taking out time for yourself

Don't you think everyone should take out some time for themselves especially 'Moms'. I certainly do feel so.We become so much engrossed in our daily life that we tend to forget about ourselves. Like me. I have a four year old kid. He is very possessive about me. It is only me with whom he will do everything right from singing, dancing, playing, watching cartoon and everything and it is only me with whom he will go to bed. No one else can do anything for him. Sometimes it becomes very frustrating. Like today I went out for a while leaving him with his Dad. But when I came back I saw that he was crying because I left him for such a long time. Seeing him cry I felt so bad. But later on I was wondering as to why I should feel so bad. Do I not deserve some time alone for myself? Don't I deserve some 'metime' so that I can do what ever I please. I am sure a lot of moms agree with me.

I totally know what you mean. I am a mother to a 6 year old with disabilities. I am her only 24 hour caregiver. My husband works so I have her all the time. Sometimes I get so overwhelmed. I try to take time to myself, like run to the store alone and leave my daughter and husband home. but even that short time doesn't really feel like a break. I think every mom or dad should have time to themselves without the guilt.
