I went for a cat scan recently and I found out that I have gallstones. I've got to meet with another doctor to see what my options are on Wednesday . i'm really hoping i don't need sugary. i'm only 21! i know its an organ you don't need but not having it puts you at higher risk for other things and those things just so happen to run in my family and it cost a lot of money. i haven't been in anymore pain since that weekend. its the only time thats happened to me too. i'm watching my diet.. now that i know what i have. i am staying away from a lot of fat and cholesterol and getting even more fiber into my diet. i read that apple juice and apples are good and that they can help soften the gallstones so they can pass through? has anyone ever tried one of those gallstones flushes? if you have gallstones what kind of foods do you eat? what kinds give you pain?

I had my gall bladder removed when I was 22. I was pregnant when I found out I had gall stones and I was having really painful gall bladder attacks. I got my gall bladder out when my son was 6 weeks old. Stay away from greasy, fried foods and acidic foods like tomatoes and citrus.

I hope you don't lose it! Every one of our organs has a purpose and I hope you keep all of yours. I have trouble getting enough fiber, especially since I'm trying to lose weight and I don't like vegetables or fruits very much. What I do is buy Fiber One cereal, which has 14 grams of fiber per serving. I keep a serving in a small bowl on my desk and use it for an all-day snack whenever I get the munchies. I also grind it up in my chopper till it's like flour and put it in pancakes, mashed potatoes, spaghetti sauce, just about anything!

I hope i don't either. i didn't even think about getting fiber one cereal while i was at the store today but i have to go to target with my mom tomorrow cause I've tried it and its not bad but i haven't been eating much cereal lately since i'm trying to stay away from milk cause my dad only drinks whole milk...but today i saw this bread at the store and gave it a try. its arnolds double fiber bread. its got 12gms of fiber for 2 slices. i thought that was good and it doesn't taste bad either. i had it with jelly.. no butter.

This can very often be rectified by a diet low in fat. While years ago gall bladder surgery was major and took weeks to recover, nowadays it will most likely be keyhole surgery - but they will only operate if diet won't remedy it.
