Today in English class our teacher discussed with us about a fuuny topic:have you eaten your frog today? It came from Mark Twain's book that said:"if you eat a live frog in the morning everyday, then there will be nothing difficult to you this day."From this words,we begun to talk about our life and what it meaned to us in true life. The teacher was reading a book about this kind of philosophy, and she advised us when we were in trouble or busy and did not know how to deal with the problems,we should have the spirit of eating the frog. She asked us to remember:when you have two frogs(two problems),eat the ugly one(the more importent and emergent one) and do not look at that frog for a long time. This advice really means a lot, especially for us,the guys who are persuing PHD study in the frist year.I have so many work to do now and it seems that time will never be enough:working as TA for two classes and grading for exams one after another;hard work in the lab;difficult core class;reading and writing;thinking about proposal, and so on.It is reasonable because we are persuing our PHD in one of the best departments in this field in the whole US and doctor degree means something special. We should not complain becasue we are eraning money for that and we can eran our own degree at the same time.It sounds a earned job. This story and advice can help me in my work----eat the ugly frog first and do not stop watching it.

Although i am a Mark Twain fan, I do not intend on eating a frog in the morning! However, his philosophy sounds correct because after that, not much worse could happen in a day! .. that would be true for you... and for the frog!!
