Wrong time to start a discussion? So, when do you think that is good to start a discussion? Maybe in the night?Usual when you start a discussion? Of cours ethat all of us have a work , and try to start when they can, but when do you think that is right time to start a new discussion?

Hi Ann, you right, discussions must to be intersting to receive answers, but is important time when you start a discussion, and how Mike said before is important to keep closer, i mean try to stay in Mylot to keep discussion active, i mean to comment in to peoples who answer to you, and try to make people understnad that you don t start a dicussion just because want to start.

I don't think there is a best time. myLot is made up of people from all over the world, therefore, someone will always be on line to look at these discussions, depending on where in the world the people in your network are from. If you want people to see your discussion right away, then I suggest you hook up with people who are mostly in your timezone. Then there are people like me, who may not see a discussion until a few days later. It's 6:19 AM here in Canada, so my guess is that it should be between noon-3 PM in Romania. I know it's noon in Denmark, and I know Romania is in Eastern Europe, so I imagine you're a couple of hours ahead of Denmark, which is 6 hours ahead of Canada.

Hi there...no between my country and Denmark are just 1 or 2 hours, and this is just because of autumn time, you know that time change in autumn with one hour....but from my experience, in the evening, my country time, is the best to start a discussion, if i start in the morning, i will receive just few answers, in the evening is something else...

hello ices-smile. It depends on the timing and how i decided to think about it. some my-lotters known to have said that i can start making discussions around five in the afternoon, i tried that but unfortunately it didn't budge in. just make the new one, when ever you feel like it. rather than wait for the right time, or the idea flushes out.

i don't start discussion's much, but i think the rite time is the evening time when most people are active. i think during the day, most of the people are busy in their work and are not able to spend much time here, so the best time i would suggest you would be at night.

I think the best time to start a new my lot discussion is in the afternoon or evening. More people seem to be on line then. Responses and comments seem to come quicker.

....Hi icesmile, that is a good question. If you think about it, I guess people are working during the day and home at night. But it depends, as someone else mentioned, on the subject and the interest factor. Then you have the time differential I would try to post at both times and keep a record of the traffic at both times, but again it depends on the interest and topic. Good luck.

Hello icesmile well it depends on which people are intrested in which type of topic, as well as you ahould give it a glance like which are the topics which are mostly answered and are top list according to that you can make one.And even if you have some new problems which are different from everyone that will also give a good answer.

I have found mine usually get responded too in the late evening. I am not sure why. I have posted many times during the day without any answers by the time I go to bed and then when I wake in the morning and sign in I have a number of responses to my posts and discussions. I would say do your own test and see what works for you

I have never noticed if there is a best time to start a discusssion as i find that i always look to my emails to see what friends here on mylot have started what discussions.I tend to start a discussion as soon as i think of one and i always get alot of responses at all times of the day or night.I start discussions when the children are quiet as that way i know i can do a better job.

I don't think that it really matters when ou start a discussion. I have started them at all hours of the day, and a couple before I went to bed at night. What is so hard, is coming up with a good topic of dicussin no matter when ou start a discussion. It really all depends too, on your mood and when you come up with an idea for a discussion or two. I don't really start all that many discussions, as it has always been hard for me to come up woth a good topic to discuss. You are rifht though, that when disucssions are started over night there is more to respond to in the morning, I have been able to respond to quite a few in the morning. Throughtout the day, there are some started, but it doesn't seem all tha tmany like ther are at night. So, just start one when you feel like it, and hope that ou get responses to it. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

It depends really on your time zone and also what time zone your friends are, since your discussion would be more exposed to them, so you must think of it too. I tend to make discussion in the morning around 8am (my time is GMT + 7) and usually generates few responses quickly. I tend to make topic discussion in the weekdays since things much slower here during the weekend

I don't think time applies. I think what is more important is the topic that you choose to bring up. Of course it also requires you to take some time to find out if the topic has been done recently. I find that when I talk about a personal favorite movie of mine, I tend to get poor responses. Actually, I did start a few, and I gave up. I don't seem to start popular topics. Still, I do believe finding a topic like relationship, making money and mylot draws a lot of attention.

In my experience it really hasn't made a difference what time I start the discussion. If the discussion that I am starting is something that is interesting to everyone, then it will have a good turnout regardless of whether I start the discussion in the morning or in the middle of the night. The only difference that I have noticed is how long it will take people to start to respond to it. The discussions that I've started very late at night are slow to take off but will typically take off the next day. I'm in Eastern Standard Time in the US. While the discussions that I've started in the middle of the day will typically take off pretty quick.
