is the reason that i commonly only get one response to my disscusions due to the fact that the first one to reply gets the, well, they get the bonus? is that true? are alot of you mylotters just in for the thrill of getting that first one in? im not going to be contradictive, ive done it before, probably will do it again too! but i usually follow up on that conversation if it hasnt ended.

Hi fezman, well mylot simply pays you per quality post, whether you started a discussion or just gave a comment to others. If you started a discussion and a thousand mylotters left a comment, you wont get any credits for that. To be able to earn you have to reply to them. you get paid by your own work/post. Now, your wondering why some mylotters just post one comment and would not reply anymore, there a many reasons for that. One, is that they don't have anything more to say. Two, they thought that they won't get credits for that anymore because the number beside their username is not adding up when they give a comment on the same discussion they have been to, which is totally not true by the way. Three, they just loose out of track of your discussion especially if they are very active in discussions and keep on answering a lot. Since its really hard to get track of everything you do here in mylot when you're so active. And other reason, I don't know.hehe Anyway, it is advisable that you keep replying to every comments you get on your own discussion. Don't start a discussion and just leave it there hanging after you got tired of it. =) Well, I hope that helps. And by the way a lot of mylotters say that to be sure you get credits for your post, try to make at least not less than 4 lines post.

yea i wondered about certain mylotters that never responded back and thats the same sort of conclusions i came up with! and yo are right, trying to keep track of everything you start and enter into can really take time and effort, i admit sometimes i start a disscussion and get no response for a day or two then when i jump on someone replied like hours if not a day or two ago, and i feel real sad that i didnt get to respond back to them, but then i think, geez i do actually have a life outside of this comnputer and kids and a job that i spend a minimum of 10hrs a day at, and after realiseing all that i feel ok on some level, and people can , well just have to wait sometimes, you cant do everything at once, and no one should be expecting you to do so! cheers for the response and extra info, talk soon.

Hahaha, absolutely. I'm sure other mylotters would understand. Besides, I think a lot of mylotters have experienced loosing track of their own discussion. And probably have missed to reply on some comments they got. that's okay since its really normal but just try not to have like a lot of comments that you won't reply to. In my opinion, and this is what I actually do. When you log in you first check your discussion before making comments on others. And make sure you were the last one who had made a comment on your own discussion. That's really the reason why we had tabs like started, new, friends started, responded blabla... It's to make our life easier here.. hehe

Well, its been truly rare where I myself would have been the first responder to any post or topic. I generally follow up on the conversation and get to respond discussions which are on the top discussions list, and they already have quite a few responses. About the reward thingy, I do not have any idea!! Is it really like that?? If it is then I must join the race as well. LOL

I for one do not treat it as a race. I don't type fast enough to be the first to respond anyway so why bother but I did read a response somewhere here on Mylot that said exactly that Fezman that the first to respond or comment makes more. I don't believe it though because I did manage to respond first to a discussion last week and I still only got a penny or two I think. There are so many discussions and interests categories on here to choose from that I think it would be hard to get very many responses to your discussions unless you have a lot of friends who keep track of your discussions. Also, the topics are why I don't respond to very many of my friends discussions yet. I do not know enough about what their discussion is about so I don't feel that I have anything to contribute. In addition, some of my friends get a lot of responses that would already be what I would have said (or similar to it), so I don't bother to repeat practically the same content.
