The thing about reading books is that it allows your mind to develop as long as you read in variety. It helps one fashion their thoughts and improve communication particularly in the written form. There is some spillover to the verbal as since I have always been an avid reader, my vocabulary is far above average. Reading provides one with the right literary tools to convey different kinds of ideas. I enjoy books on social psychology and many times I have been able to deploy my knowledge in relationships due to having formerly come across a similar scenario in a book. The key is to read in a large variety. One shouldn't forget that books are written by people and people always have some form of bias in their writing style so it is good to read a book on the same topic by a different author to gain some sort of objectivity on that issue.

yes, I personally think reading is helpful. But only if we implement the knowledge in our everyday lives. Most of the time it really takes a lot of courage and determination to implement something into ourselves.

Each book has its own subject. Each book has some knowledge. U read any kind of books, jokes, stories, fun, time pass, each book has knowledge, according to me. Its depend on reader what he gain from the book, and what is the purpose of reading. Anyways reading is the best habit that we can follow lifetime. And thats realy true books are our best friend. We can find our all solutions through books. But remember, be practicle. Live in true world. Implement thoughts of books in real world.
