I have been a stay at home mom since January 2008. After all this time trying to earn money online and not being very successful, I decided to start really working from home. Not that being a stay at home parent isn't really working, because it is. I just had to find something where I could raise my kids and earn some money. Just this week, I started to become an Avon Independent Sales Representative. I just started September 16 and already made some money. I like the flexibility to make my own hours. It's also something that I can do and still raise my children. I have my own website or online store, however you want to name it. I can advertise pretty much any way that I want, with stipulations of course. I can pretty much run my business any way that I want also. You get out of it what you put into it. There are lots of ways to earn from it too. you can have your online store, do book orders, have fundraisers, recruit new representatives and many more ways. If you would like more information on becoming an Avon independent Sales Representative, having a fundraiser, or just purchasing their products you can go to http://www.youravon.com/rachelwentz (This is NOT a referral link) What do you do to make money from home?

I think that being a stay or work at home parent is a wonderful idea, as long as your family has the financial means to support it. Personally i would love to stay at home, but unfortunately, being the higher income earner in our household its just not an equitable arrangement for when we have children. However, my spouse has a flexible job which we can work around the schedule without any major difficulties. That being said, not everyone has teh same opinion as me, i want to give my children the best i can and do the best i can for my family, so regardless if i want to stay home or not, i will be working hard to give them everything they need.

With us both working 40+ hours a week we still couldn't afford good daycare. We also couldn't afford the gas to drive all over town with different work schedules and "okay" daycare across town. We didn't see any other option but for one of us to stay home. We wanted to raise our kids, not let someone else raise them. It works for us. My mom stayed at home for many years and I think my sister and I are better off for it. We don't have a lot of money but our kids are taken care of. I'm just working now to help financially because I feel bad not contributing and after all this time, things are just now getting tight. Our kids get everything they need.
