Once your fruits and vegetables were ready for harvest they were handled by several pairs of hands like in fields and orchards finally in grocery store... We all know the important of washing fruits and vegetables...also products.. especially with the chemical sprays and such that farmers uses these days... Washing veg and fruits can actually shorten shelf life of the product Isa.

Recently, I've read a news about a certain mixed veggies that contained poisonous plants, we should always wash and check it for cleanliness and safety reasons.

it says pre washed also in the packaging of the vegetables i bought. i have this green salad vegetables washed in mineral water. but according to the show i have watched that not to believe that claim we can it right away after opening the plastic . we still need to wash it first thoroughly before we eat the leafy vegetables. it is better be safe than sorry. as we don't see how they wash it. like nothing so safe now despite the high technology we have now.

Hello Isabella, So far I never come across those vegetables that has this ;label ' All ready wash' For me, I always wash and rinse the vegetables that I buy, be it a carrot or leafy vegetables. For cabbage, I even soak it in water for at least 1 hour. I just don;t like the smell. Some of my friends even use special vegetables drop to wash the vegetables.

I always washed fruits and vegetables whether they are labelled washed or not. Its an automatic preparation for me. And for hygienic purposes, I think its better that way for we eat it fresh.

Absolutely! I wash it all whether it says it's been washed or not. I remember quite a few times where people got sick from those bagged salads that are supposed to be already clean, sliced, and ready to eat. All it takes is one careless employee to spoil the batch and lots of people get sick. For me and my family, we always wash it irregardles of what the packaging says. It's a shame not to trust it, but the scare is there because it's already happened before. We wash all fruits and veggies just in case.

Whenever I buy vegies, no matter where I buy them from, and how they are packaged with whatever written on the package, I always make sure to wash them for myself whenever I get them ready to cook and eat. Though the way we Indians cook them in the curry it does cleans them up quite a bit, but still I just can let through without washing them first. I feel that's the only healthy way to cook. Take Care

It is better not to take change as without proper washing you may be target of diseases which maybe caused due to pesticides or other chemical used by the farmer. If the veggie is already cooked and readyto eat you can not do anything but if it is still to be cooked there is no harm in washing it once again than suffering for diseases.

Hi, isabella. I have never found this in my country yet. If i am in your situation, i will still wash the vegetables even though it is already labeled "already wash". Even it is washed, but i still do not believe it is clean. Because i do not know whether the plastic is clean or not. So, whatever it is already washed or not, i still wash it before eating. It is the safest way for me. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I always wash the vegetables even if it is written "already washed" because you never know if the hands or the machine who/which uploaded the vegetables were clean enough so to be on the safe side I do wash the vegetables many times before cooking it.

When i buy vegetables from the market,i will definitely wash it.I dunno why i do that, maybe i don't trust the label and i feel safer that way.If you feel that it is safe to cook without washing it,why not? If you simply won't trust the label like me,you can always wash it.

I have a tendency to wash my vegetables before eating them. The main ones that I usually purchase are lettuce and tomatoes, and they are not the type that say that they have been pre-washed. Of course, the lettuce is usually wet from being sprayed with cool water in the store. So it really probably doesn't need to be washed. I just do it as a precaution. Plus, I don't know how many times I have found dirt on the lettuce. I don't think that it is a bad idea to wash any thing that you purchase from the market. Even washing off cans of soda before you drink out of them is a pretty good idea. In some countries, when they give you a bottle of soda, it comes with a napkin on the top of it because they wipe it down for you when they open it.

Hi isabella, well none of the vegetables here come with handy labels attached, or in plastic containers. They either come from someones garden or from the market so it's always best to wash them. Sometimes the cherry tomatoes are in a plastic box but I buy the loose ones instead as you can't tell if they are firm by squeezing a plastic box.

I always wash all of my fruits and vegetables because you don't know who touch it before you in the store. Someone picks something up and then puts it back deciding not to buy it. Not to mention the chemicals that may be still on the veggies even though they say already washed. I don't believe everything I read.

I wash everything. But I don´t live in the US. Anyway, I guess that if I lived there, I would wash them anyway. I´m very picky with other people´s hands. I don´t dry dishes: I prefer them to air dry and don´t touch them. As for veggies, I can´t wait having my own veggie garden. I don´t like all the "products" they put on food. I´d rather take away a worm with a knife.

I always wash any fruits or vegetables before eating. I do not trust anything that says ready for use. I see stories on the news how they put things together before going to the store. Some of the food handlers are not clean. Jerms are clever little creatures. They would find their way around anything. Happy lotting.
