Pizza and a movie night!

My son has asked if we can start having pizza and a movie night once a week. I am not sure if once a week will work, but maybe 2 times a month. His favorite place to get pizza is only about a block away, so we could walk down and get it. I am thinking of making it on a week night just because I know that Kevin does not get too much business during the week, so it would be good for him. Do you do family pizza and movie night? How often and on what day of the week?

Nothing wrong with pizza and a movie night alone as long as you don't eat a whole pizza. lol

We don't have takeout pizza or pizza from a restaurant on a regular basis, but we do have frozen pizza at home usually about once a week. I prefer the Jack's frozen pizza, but of course I have to add extra cheese and pepperoni. Actually, it's as good if not better than some of the take out places that I have come across lately, and not nearly as expensive. We're not big movie buffs. Sports is more of our thing. So, we can always have a pizza while we're watching baseball. Of course, baseball season is almost over. That means we will only get football Thursday thru Sunday, that's pro and college football. However, I always like baseball and college basketball season better. I guess I'll make it until November, when NCAA basketball starts. LOL

I have never really been into sports and neither is my son. My kids are both big into movies.

When the feeling hits and we make homemade pizza. It is cheaper, faster and much tastier!

Homemade pizza is really good. Kevin's is cool though because I can call him and he will say, "Be here in 15 minutes." and my pizza is ready when I get there.

When my kids were younger, we would have pizza and a movie night, usually on Fridays so the kids could stay up later to watch them and, of course, on paydays. They liked it a lot, we've had a lot of fun watching a lot of great movies. One of our other favorites was to have 'game night' One of the kids would pick out a game each week and we would play, my youngest still likes game night. I think the pizza and movie night or game night is a good thing, game night was on Thursdays IF all homework was done, it was a great way to get the kids motivated to do something and its a good thing for all of you because it's something you all do together.

When I was living with my parents we did do the pizza and a movie night. We would check to see what was on comcast on demand and watch a comedy or an anime movie. One time, we did stand-up comedy night so we watched George Lopez, Eddie Murphy, Sinbad, Bill Cosby, the Blue Collar Tour(Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White, Larry the Cable Guy, and Bill Engvall). It was usually on either friday or saturdays. But now that I am married, my husband and I felt like a pizza, would pop in a dvd and pop in a frozen Home Run Inn Pizza. Good Times!

I think that is a great idea! And another idea-try making little pizzas on bagels or even just grabbing a take in bake from the store and adding all the goodies you like together. I have done that a few times. Fun fun! I have 3 kids, and we do a popcorn and movie night-although sometimes it is in the middle of the afternoon. We watched "The Ugly Duckling" just yesterday. Kind of a low grade movie, but my kids liked it and that's all that matters.

That's an interesting plan, to keep members of the family happy. Your son will be very happy. That is excellent. For me, I do like eating pizza, for lunch, for dinner, and for snacks some times. But, not together with a movie. I rarely watch movies these days, with my work taking too long some times. So, I would just relax for a few minutes and go to bed.

Hi, lilybug We do not have a regular pizza and movie night but my husband and I -- and my mother! -- do love going out for a pizza. It is usually the three of us who go out and stuff ourselves at Yellow Cab or Pizza Hut. My father is usually left out because he is really picky with food and he does not like anything complicated like pizza We only watch movies when we something we like is showing. And pizza and movie do not go together for us. It's usually shopping and pizza or movie and McDonalds. I think it's sweet for your son to ask for a pizza and movie night. When I have kids I think I will also arrange for such night. It's a good opportunity to bond, right? Take care!

Hi Lilybug A movie and pizza night sounds good to me We usually order out from one of the local pizza places we have so many right around the corner in walking distance we have Dominoes,Pizza Joes,Papa John's to name a few but we sometimes go out to CICI's Pizza for those who don't who of them they are an all you can eat pizza ,pasta, soup and salad bar they also have deserts..I posted a topic about them a few weeks back. Its very inexpensive its cost about $5.99 per person Sometimes we go there and then we may take in a movie afterwards but if we stay in and order takeout we go to one of several in our area depends on who is having the best deal at the time

We do this about once or twice a month. Sometimes we just stay home and order pizza and rent a movie. My son loves pizza and movie night- and of course so do I.
