About Facebook Site Maintenance

You know, today when i login my facebook, i have a strange message that said my account is temporarily unavaible because of site maintenance. The Exact Phrase of the message is like this :
"Your Account is temporarily Unavailable due to site maintenance. It should be available again within a few hours. We Apologize for the inconvenience."
At first i thought, oh well, let it be. But after i have some chat with my friend, he said that his facebook is allright and there is no site maintanenance in facebook. And then after i ask other, the answerr is the same, they can login freely.
Im kinda panick, and then i start searching around in google. Well, many of the search result is just complain about this, but there is no solution. Some event say they have the problem until more then a week. Other i found said facebook is gonna die soon. And some other this is how facebook punish a few of their member because spamming ( well i post a few link in my wall ). And other also said that this is always happen before some one birthday ( and is true, im gonna be 25 at Sept 29th )
Well after read so much complain with no solution, at last i found one solution. Stupid me, im searh all around in google when it should be obvious that i should search in the facebook help center first.
There i found information about site maintenance. Site maintenance mean facebook is making improvement to the database that my account store on. While doing this, i will not be able to access my account. And usually it take only a few hours.
Well, the most important information is this:
"We don't do site maintenance to all acount at the same time, so it is possible that some of your friend will be access the site while your account is unavailable."
After read that, i feel kinda relieve. And facebook also give a solution, if after 24 hours the account still in active, we should delete our cookies and temp internet files.
If the error still persist, there is a link in help center to contact the facebook about the error.
And it is true, after a few hours ( 4 hour then the last time i failed in login, i dont know for sure when the site maintenance is start ) i can login again to my account in facebook.
Hope this information help some one who has the same problem with me.

Facebook seems to have many glitches. This week my account was temporarily unavailable a few times . . . but I was able to log on soon enough - in some cases I could log on just going back to Facebook after a few minutes! Other times I could not access some of my friends profile pages (that's been going on a for a while) . . . but again, sometimes I can get to it if I try again. There's just so much for Facebook to handle . . . all those people and all that data . . . so I'm not surprised things like this happens . . . it's just gets annoying. But hey, it's a free site, right?

same here... i consume my time on layouts using friendster account but when i met facebook, i visit friendster only once in a while... but now my facebook account is unavailable. aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

What happened to your account? Do you what message that it is show? And when did it happen, and for how long? Do you already searh for information in the help center of googling it? Some time, the error that happened can be easily repaired by lookin on the information on the help center.

That is happen everyweek. But that is not make me confuse, because facebook only for see my friend status. I more interested friendster than facebook. Do you use friendster?

Oo i c. So You alse have experience this problem. I have a friendster ID, And friendster has been my favorite social networking site all this time, at least, until i met facebook. After i met facebook, im kinda forget about friendster, and most of my friend also move on from friendster to facebook.
I think facebook suprass friendster in so many ways. Now when i c the new friendster, it view has been change, look like it want to copy facebook a lilte.

You can look difference between facebook and friendster. If you have private photo, in facebook you can not secure your private photo but in friendster you can secure that photo. But if you want to find your lost friend, facebook is a good site for that job. Because facebook is popular site in the world for social networking. I found my lost friend in facebook

You can have a private foto too in facebook. Just set the privacy setting in each album, and then there is a private foto. It more easy in facebook to set up a private foto. But anyway, why would some one upload a private foto in the first place? Internet is a scary place, if you have a photo that you dont want other to know, better to never upload it. Coz some way or another, sooner or latter, the photo will spread, coz there is many way to rome :P

Its interesting when I read your thread, I don't know something like that can happened on the large social networking site like the facebook. Fortunately I don't have it. And If that happened on me, your article can make me clam down.

OO So you dont have a facebook account. I think you should make one, because if there is so many thing that you could do with facebook. Facebook give us so much function, like connection to our friend, finding a new friend, an easy way to communicate, playing games / apps together, make discusion and many more. Just try to make one.
And about a large site can have problem, off course it can. Large site like facebook have so many user and so many concurent operation that some time, even with the best server, can make error happen. Thats why, they are make a maintance every now and then, to avoid / minimalize error that could happen.

Hi,
When i too log in my face book account and tried to play my farm ville game. It said that "this account is currently unavailable and try after some time."

Oo so you have a same problem too. So How about it now. Did You now able to access your facebook again. If you still not able to access your facebook in the next 24 hour try to delete all the cookies and temporary interent files, that usually will solve most problem. If the error still there, try contact the facebook with the link in help center.
And You play farm ville too, i play that game too, but i kinda loss while playing that game in facebook. Any tips from me?
