Trinity or Godhead?

It is true that Jesus said that "I and my Father are one", aren't we also taught that we are to become one with Christ? By becoming one with Christ do we become Christ?
Everytime He could have taken the honor of a miracle or a point of doctrine for himself, he deferred to His Father who is in Heaven. He also pointed out that what He was not on earth to fulfill his goals, but those of His Father who sent him.
Can you find a single passage in the Holy Bible where Christ says that He is the Father? I can show you many verses where He says he isn't.

There is one God "Jesus" who manifested himself as our almighty God (the creator), Son of God (Christ our Savior, and the Holy Ghost ("the holy Spirit") These three titles (Father,Son,and Holy Spirit)refer to three of God's offices, roles or relationship to humanity; they do not indicate personification of three God's.
John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, The Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

So why did Jesus say many times that He is not the Father, but sent by the Father?

If Jesus said He isn't the Father, but He was sent by his Father (who He also said was in heaven), I'll take His word for it. Thanks.

earl was right..(1 timothy 3:16)God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the gentiles, believed in the world, receieved up in Glory. ------it's up to you to believe ted..during that moment and time He was in flesh as the son (Jesus). that's why he said He's not the father..as He teaches the people to pray, read matthew 6:9.

I do not know of any scripture that says Christ is the Father. You find many places where he says they are one but not that he is God. I think maybe the oness was a single purpose perhaps? In other words he and the father had the same mind?
My pastors wife once explained the trinity to me like this: It is like an egg there is a shell, white and a yolk. All make up the total egg but each part can also be seperate? Still learning myself.

I've heard that analogy before too, but it has one major flaw. No one claims that the three parts of the egg don't make up the One egg, but Jesus did claim that He wasn't teaching His own doctrine, but His Father who sent him.

No I don't believe in trinity, its not even a word found in the bible, its church doctrine not bible doctrine. The one he is talking about (to me) is the one in spirit and purpose, a harmony of humanity with the spirit of God.
A bit off subject Ted but I noticed you are having a hard time as I was not long ago with another verse in the bible "Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people" :p

We need to take scripture in context. Paul was talking specifically about the High Priest, Annanias. Not of any head of state.
So unless you are trying to say that Obama is the High Priest.. lol

Actually he used it for the high priest but he was referring to Exodus 22:28 and Moses was not high priest but ruler in which it was given. So its original use was for ruler of the people. David, even when Saul seeked to end his life, didn't curse him or demean the post that God had given him, after all its also written that God puts his will into the hearts and minds of the rulers.

Either way, even though Obama thinks he's some kind of ruler, here in US we have no rulers... no matter how much the brainless Obamabots want one.
