Didn't Steven King do that with one of his books? Not being a King fan, I'm not sure, I just remember thinking "wow, that's so cool". I have thought about that, but I haven't figured out the logistics of getting paid. Subscription? Also, I like books, so I think I'd want to have hard copies. But there's publishing on demand, like lulu and others, where the books are only printed as they're ordered so you don't have to come up with a lot of money up front. One of the advantages for the author is that he/she gets a larger cut of the money. The disadvantage is that the entire burden of promoting your book is on you. I would continue to look into this if I were you. Good luck!

Hi Gardynne, you can try publishing in lulu.com As long as the book is in eformat, you can publish it free of charge. However, you are in charge for the marketing and sales of the books. If you want to publish in hard copy later on, it's possible, just pay a sum of money to get the ISBN, and decide on the number of copies you want to print. The books will be made available to readers in Amazon and Noble. Most people publish complete book, I haven't seen anyone publish a chapter per week in lulu

I have written 2 books, The Heart of The Seekers and Voices From A Deep Heart 2 both available on my site and many others. Its not hard to write a book but marketing and sales is the trick.

I've thought about trying to publish online to get some writing credentials, but I don't really want to do it. (I like actual books too much). But I do know there are a lot of e-book publishers, and then if you don't want to bother with them you can always make your own website to publish them. I'm sure you wouldn't be the first to have done this. Just curious, is this book a collection of short stories that all kinda follow the same path like Tom Sawyer?
