Do You Tell Your Doctor Everything About You and Your Health Issues?

I once had a family doctor that I trust and I could tell her everything because she was genuine. She actually cared about her patients and then she was transferred to another location. I really felt that I was getting good health care while I was under her care. Now, I only speak about the issue for my visit and now-a-days if you try to talk about other health issues on the same visit they would even address them and I see this happening at the "for profit only" health care facilities.

hi yparson, it is a must to be honest with your doctor. any information is crucial in the diagnosis process. doctors observe confidentiality and it will only be breached if your case needs further consultation with other specialist to arrive at the right conclusion, diagnosis and treatment. in my case, i always tell whatever i need to tell my doctor all related to my complaints and reason for coming to her. stay healthy friend! have a great day!

I answer the questions that the doctor ask me. Usually she ask what problems I am having and I tell her. It seem that health care is now profit first and care come second.

We don't have a family doctor. We only go to the surgery and book an appointment to our GP. Once you have tell your health issues, if it's worst, she going to make a reccomendation to the specialist. I think today, different illness is being treated by the doctor who is specialized in that area. Happy myloting.

as much as possible, i tell my doctor everything that concerns my health. sometimes i entertain thoughts that i might be making use of every visit because i not only refer immediate concerns but concerns which were past and which, to my mind, might have the chance to recur. at the end of the day, i would tell myself that it was right for me to do that because i am paying monthly for my health care. now, with whatever little concern, i see the doctor, and if possible, go for lab tests as they are included in my health care coverage.

I have known my doctor all my life. As a matter of fact, he is the doctor who delivered me I was the last baby he ever delivered. LOL Mom likes to tease me saying that he took one look at me and said "I have ust delivered the perfect baby. I shouldn't deliver anymore." LOL So I trust him with all of my health issues.

The time of good doctors have gone. Now we cannot tell all to a doctor. They are all specialists. Once a writer of my state made a joke and this as follows. Once we can treat for all ailment to a doctor. Now the specialists are treating for particular. Now he went to a eye specialist for problem in right eye. With utmost surprise he has been told by the doctor that now he was treating only left eye.

In Canada we have Universal health care so "for profit only" health care isn't even a concern. And yes, whenever I feel like there is some sort of issue with my health or body, I always let my doctor know.
