Have you seen the Geico ad where there is a sales meeting and one guy says if he was a lizard with a British accent, he would have high sales, too. The Gecko corrects him and says he is a gecko. A woman at the table says she thought he was from Australia and not British. The Gecko says funny you should ask, actually I'm from .... The ad ends there. So if they ever have a follow up ad, where do you think the Gecko will say he is from? I'm putting forth a first guess of India.

That might give the accent but supposedly geckos are mostly in old world areas.

Hey stealthy! I would maybe guess that he would say he is from Florida! They have so many geckos there! My mother has them running all other her house! I woke up one morning and was on my way to the bathroom and I stopped looked down and screamed! There was a gecko looking right at me! Not what I was used to seeing first thing in the morning being from NY!

Why the British accent and true geckos are actually mostly from the old world; of course lots of things have found their way here.

I'll go with Australia. I can't remember where the voice over guy is really from, although I get the gecko is a different entity from the voice over dude. I've been to Australia, and they have that kind of free and easy vibe. I may be stereotyping here, but I figure the English are more formal (although never have visited England). Of course I am sitting here contemplating a Geico gecko, so don't put money on anything I say.

I reaslly have no idea, but the Geiko Gecko is a cute little greaen lizard though. I have seen lots of Geiko commercials and the one I like the best is whre the guy stars to fall backwards and the gecko has to catch him, as if he really could. There have been so many, and the one you are talking about just seems to hang there and I sure wish I knew but it could be anywhere there is accents. I guess we will just have to wait and see if they make a follow up commercial to that one. Have a good day, and happy mylotting.
