Hello my fellow Myloters, I have this new Eee PC that I bought about three weeks ago because my old laptop broken down. Its very new and I been having this trouble of Blue Screen Error almost everyday and it shuts down my computer twice a day. I been cleaning it all the time but my anti virus is not picking up anything all it got is some tracking cookie which from what I gather on the net its not really harmful because you only get this when you are browsing some website, am I right?. I have Paid subscription of Norton at the moment because it was installed already in the computer when I bought it and trying to add additional protection I tried to install Karspersky and after downloading I cant install it because of Norton so I didn't install it. After downloading the Karspersky and attempting to install it in my computer that's when the Blue Screen Error starting to appair. Can anybody please tell me what I can do to fix this problem and is this Blue screen error cause by devices or drive could eventually ruin my computer? Thanks for all your help and I would really appreciate it if somebody could tell me. Thanks agian.

BSOD error is usually cause by a faulty hardware parts, but as you said that the problem start when you install kaspersky, try to boot in safe mode then uninstall kaspersky. I don't recommend to install two antivirus in one machine, having two antivirus in one machine will cause your machine to slowdown specially when you pick a memory hog antivirus.

Thanks for the response kurtaxl, I actually didn't install the Karspersky because on the process it says I have to uninstall the Norton and it ask me if I want to uninstall Norton and I said no so the Karspersky cancel the installation. But you said faulty hardware what could be the cause of this because I am suspecting too that this could be faulty hardware too because my fan most of the time is in full speed and its really wasn't like that on the first week when I bought it? Thanks very much for your response

overheating can cause your hardware to breakdown and most of the time when I encountered BSOD the first that I checked is the RAM and the videocard. try also to check the heatsink of your processor if it is clog.

Thanks Kurtaxl, Can you please tell me how to access the Ram and video card. I am not very familiar with computer parts and drives and whatever it is inside. The only thing I know about computer is when I can get online onto the net. Also for more info, before this BSOD started I been using my computer whole day with very little break, do you think this could be part of it? Thanks agian

It could be of faulty hardware or due to corrupted windows files. try repairing your windows. just tap F8 key few times before the windows boot screen appears and select safe mode. after you have booted in safe mode, insert your windows installation cd/dvd and now in run menu type cmd and hit enter and in command prompt type sfc /scannow a automatic windows file repair operation should begin which will try to fix corrupted windows files.

Thanks prajnith, I dont thin k i have the CD here but we are going back to manila in couple of week so I might do that there. If I dont do anything to fix it could this cause a crash down of my computer? I am planning to take it as well to where I bought it since its still on warranty because I am not really sure about doing things in my computers because that was part of why my computer get ruin before trying to fix some problem and got worsen. Thanks for the reply and please let me know if its still OK if I waited another couple more weeks and if so what should I do to make sure my computer will stay alive till I get back to manila. Thanks agian

actually if its still under warranty then you don't have to worry about your hard-disk as if it crashes you can get it replaced .frequent windows crash will damage your hard-disk so i insist you backup all your important data in that hard-disk. and there is no way you can repair your windows without the installation cd. perform a hard disk error scan and then perform defragmentation ,this might help a bit.

as rosdimy said you can try performing system restore and check if it helps in anyway..

I just like to add something on BSOD, its main purpose is to prevent your PC from further damage due to misconfigured devices or a faulty one, which is good but you cannot use it also until you resolve the problem. Since your EEEPC is relatively new then its probably just a device driver issue - misconfigured or a corrupt driver file. Hope you can isolate your problem and fix it, good luck.

First I would like to thanks all of you and ferdz for your responses. I just resolve the problem. I uninstall the Norton even though it was not really my intention because the Norton was a paid subscription and after uninstalling it my computer is working perfect again. Thanks you all again for your help.

If the above attempt fails, try doing a system restore. If you can access Windows normally, do it from there. Otherwise do it from the system restore. Another alternative is to uninstall Norton from safe mode. It is heavy, not necessarily the best, and one of the antivirus programs that dislike having another antivirus program running side by side.

Yeah i agree. Norton Antivirus is heavy. It make my PC become slow. And even if you try to uninstall it, it seem when you install other anti virus, the new anti virus still c that norton antivirus still there. I use a norton uninstaller to fully uninstall the antivirus. now i use AVG Free 8.5 as my Anti Virus, is great, and it is free.

Hey, Yes I have gotten this error quite a few times, I don't really know why on earth I got it. But it is weird, because as soon as I got the blue screen error, straight away after it happened, my computer just turned off and restarted. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Thanks Elite, Will if you keep getting that Blue Screen Error on your computer maybe its worth checking your anti virus and like the answers of other members here having multiple anti virus can actually harm your computer. Just info to all, I just saw a notice on SuperAntiSpyware that Karspersky is treated now as Malware so anybody who got Karspersky or planning to use karspersky be careful. This is the one that actually started the Blue screen error on my computer. Good luck to all and happy Myloting

I think you should reinstall operating system again.. or you go back your computer by system restore...point..in this you choose a date..whether your computer working in good...date..and you can...restore your computer on that date.. i think..your problem..can solved..by doing this..
