Myspace and Facebook

Okay, Myspace and Facebook are almost a daily routine for most Americans that have either or. Whether you are checking Facebook or Myspace or your uploading pictures or updating your daily activity it is a way of life. However, I think people are taking it to far. One day this summer I was with a bunch of friends getting ready to head for the beach to enjoy the nice weather outside. I was waiting for one of my friends to show up, but it turns out she lost her cell phone. Now she was already late about 10 to 15 minutes and we are all sitting in the 711 parking lot waiting for her to come. I am on my blackberry and figured I'd check out my facebook page and see if I had any messages. I open up the Facebook homepage and I see a status update from my friend who I am waiting for. "Lost my cell phone....Ahhhhhh." You lose your cell phone yet instead of looking for it you go on Facebook to post that you lost it! Get up off of facebook and FIND YOUR PHONE! You don't need to go on Facebook to post your whole life story. Facebook is nice believe me I enjoy it and go on it at least once or twice a day. However, I will not be caught dead going on there and posting messages before everything I do. Just rolled out bed. Going to take a shower. Getting dressed. Going out to the mall. Does the world really need to know these things? It's even worse if you have the messages sent to your phone. I get messages from people of status updates and honestly I could really care less what they are doing. I am worried about what I am doing not what they are doing! We need to stop going on there every two seconds to post what is going on with our day. How many people actually read those dam things anyway? Does anyone else think that it's going to far like I do? Maybe one day soon people can start toning down and start spending less time on facebook and myspace and doing what they are suppose to do.

I love facebook, I don't post about everything I do, I find I enjoy commenting on my friends pages and photos more than I do posting what I am doing. I have found facebook has been a great place for me to find friends I lost touch with after high school and college. I have found so many people and really enjoy catching up and seeing where they are in their life now as compared to what they were like when we were in high school or even middle school

I must say I'm pretty relieved that I am not the only one that thinks it's getting out of control. I like a bunch of the functions both websites have to offer, but the whole post my whole life story on there isn't for me.

I joined Facebook to network with other writers, and that's pretty much all I use it for. I don't even like the site, but if it's useful I can put up with it. I'm not interested in apps, games, and whatever other junk they have. I've joined one group, but I'll only join if it's about something that's very interesting to me, and if it's active and isn't just a way to make your page look busy. A lot of people have nothing much to keep themselves busy, or they like to gossip or poke their nose into other people's lives. If that's what they want to do, fine with me.

Haha,It's a long article but somehow interesting. Your friend is so funny, if I were she/he, I should figure out a way to call u first. But for your opinion, it's a good proof to show how facebook and myspace works in real life. it reminds us we should balance our own time correctly, everything has two sides, just like doulbe-edge sward. tell u what, facebook have been banned now in china, it looks like some other countries also have banned it for the violence and reactionary videos. what a pity!

I use both but tend to use Facebook more for chatting. I use Myspace more for music and finding out about new bands etc. I agree with what you say about peoples updates and they can be totally uninteresting and pointless, I even had one friend who updated his status to say just that. Twitter is probably the place to go if you want tell everyone that you've gone to the mall etc haha lol.
