Zip, pop, whirrrrr......

My kids never let me sing. NEVER. They tell me to stop. They say no. They shout me down. So tonight when Cary asked me to sing "The Marvelous Toy", I was in seventh heaven. He likes the part where "it goes zip when it moves, pop when it stops, whirrr when it stands still"... So do I. :-) So when Dearra told me to stop singing, I told her "no, Cary asked me to. So there!" And then I sang... Happy camper... Did you ever have a happy moment come that you never thought would?

Your kids sound like mine. They never let me sing either! LOL Okay, so my youngest doesn't mind it so much, but my oldest absolutely hates it! It's not just me either, he pretty much hates it when anyone sings. I can't even have the radio on in the truck when we go somewhere. What's funny is he used to not mind it so much. But after hearing a couple of X-Mas songs that he doesn't care for over the radio a few times, he'd rather keep it off. I've tried to explain to him that these songs are only on during Christmas time, but I guess he doesn't want to take any chances! LOL Happy mylotting!

They like the radio and the cd player, but not necessarily my taste in music. :-)

hi dawnald I was just trying to think, hard work, but oh yes, I had wanted to get out of here for a few hours and see a new movie, and all of a sudden my son called me, and said he and Mike had found the new Star Trek movie, and did I want to join them,I almost choked I was so touched and happy. oh we get movies here but they are oldies, some golden, but still I had wanted to go outside this place and see a new movie, and we did have such fun as Mike David, my son's friend and I and my son kept making low comments about the movie. we all three are Star Trek fans for sure.

Me too and I thought that the movie was pretty good. Very un Star Trek like in a way, though. Usually if you get a timeline deviation like that by the end of the movie they would have gone back and fixed it. But I guess they're laying the foundation for a whole new line of stories!

I had a great one yesterday. In the morning I received a phone call from Dubai. My DIL said that the twins wanted me to sing their night night songs before they went to bed. So I sang and they joined in. I was so happy that they did not see the tears flowing. The said that their Daddy was coming for Christmas and that they would see me in the summer. It wa really great. One song I always ended singing :"I love you" and when I said it I would point my finger at both of them. At the end of the song, they told me that they pointed and each other and pointed at me too. Dear God, where's the tissue!

Aww that's great. You know, I was thinking, with these German letters I'm translating, it used to be that you'd cross the ocean and never hear from your loved ones again. And then later when there was regular traffic, you'd have letters, but you wouldn't ever actually see them and eventually everybody would drift apart and lose contact. but we have all this wonderful modern technology to keep us connected.

I have. When I was with my family members and some relatives whom I adore so much; that moment was awesome. It felt like a camping trip; singing and whatnot. Everything was like so cool, with the stars and moon above. Thought it was like a perfect family moment. Blissful of happiness. Wanna make it a point to have those in the near future and forever, if possible..

I wish my daughter would let me sing! Of course I am not good at it but I love it! I know almost all the words to my favourite songs and I have always sung along having a great old time but since my daughter has come along it all had to end because she hates it, I mean really hates it! Surely I can’t sound that bad! (LOL) The best fun we’ve had was only recently when my little girl who has been learning ballroom dancing for a few years decided to teach me the cha cha; it was such fun! We laughed at my clumsiness and rejoiced when I got it until we cried! They are the moments special memories are made of. I wish lots of them for you.

We would be laughing if I tried to cha cha too! Two left feet and stiff as a board...
