As a kid, many of us were always mugging for the cameras in the events of our lives. Graduation, Prom, Home coming, 1st car, 1st place in the county fair, WHATEVER, we loved hamming it up in front of that lens! Now that time and gravity have caught up to many of us, I wonder how you feel about having a picture taken of you NOW. Would you want time to spruce up? Dab on some lipstick or eye liner? Get your hair done? Change your shirt? Put out your ciggy, or remove the bottle or can that is usually in your hand? Do you have a "side" that you prefer to be shot (photos not bullets) from? Or do you do what I do and just flip down your shades and hide the whole dammm mess? Husband is getting portraits of the me and the kids for the holidays, and the thought of sitting in front of a camera is scaring the bejeeezes outta me help?

The way technology has gone, what with cellphones nowadays making the photos, or even the video, it has taken the enchantment out of the whole process, I believe. When I was young (5 years ago) it was an EVENT having your photo taken, something special. But now, any time some friends pop by for a visit, some birthday, whatever, somebody (or EVERYBODY) takes out their cellphone and makes a shot. When I was young (to be honest, it was a little longer ago), having a photo taken of you always implied that somebody (besides me, that is) would look at it. Who on earth is looking actually at the thousands and thousands of photos being taken nowadays?

I was younger five years ago too! Yes, the "event" of having ones picture snapped has been diminished. But now, billions of folks we don't even know can see ones of us online on MYFACE
