I use one site kind of like myspace to make money. Payout is $5. But it is not a get rich quick kind of thing it takes time. I have been there 2 years. I love it for the friends I have made and I have been paid out twice. I haven't been there much these past few weeks but I still check back when I can. You have a profile there just like myspace, friends page, comments you know all the normal stuff. But the site is "family friendly" so alot of the smut you see on myspace isn't allowed there.

You can but you need to know what you're doing. Basically you need to be active, deliver short, teaser type lines (think along the lines of a journalist trying to catch your attention with a short snappy sentence, or the tag line on a film) and you need to pick and choose your target audience, i.e. users with similar interests. It's no good if you're trying to market your new blog about scented candles if you A) seek out anyone and everyone or B) pick users that have sites about dog training or party planning - as an example. One website found massive success via Twitter just by tweeting that they were giving away free laptops to the first so many customers (or something like that). Their tweet got picked up, retweeted over and again and before you know it, they were the hot topic on Twitter and gained a huge new audience to their site. The same can be said of any social networking site. But - I prefer to work with SEO stuff and give search engines what they want. I rarely use social network sites, preferrring to create content, publish it online then do some backstage work by way of backlinks and so on. In short - you can be a success via social network sites, providing you know how to go about it. Give it a go ... you never know:)
