Decriminalization of marijuana

My state just decriminalized marijuana! Is this a step to legalizing and taxing the cash crop? I think it would be a huge boost to our financial crisis in the state to start taxing it. I know that many people make a living with the crop. What are you thoughts? How about your state or country? Where do you stand on this common debate?

hey, nice name!
If they cleared all the petty weed convicts out of the prisons, there would be room for CRIMINALS! And yes, I can't help but think that the revenues derived from taxing the heck out of pot would relieve us of some tax burdens.
What state are you in, if I may ask?
(I may want to move there or buy property)

I hear that. I can't stand knowing we have locked up those that smoke pot. It seems like such a waste of money. I live in Maine and it just happened yesterday so I am pretty hopeful for the future. I think it is a step in the right direction and that if they legalize we could see some serious growth in the tax burdens and debt we have.
