A Bittersweet Event

I was stunned as I watched the evening news today when I learned that a local veteran TV newscaster's honor ceremony had been marred by tragedy. His name is Carl Day, and I have watched him reporting the news for decades. It is well known that he has battled cancer several times over the years, and always managed to bounce back. The statement he issued as he received his award was all about how eagerly his wife of 48 years had been looking forward to being at his side when he received the well-earned award. Sadly, his wife passed away suddenly this morning, on the very day of the highlight of his career. Their daughter stood by his side as he tearfully acknowledged his wife for all the years of loving support to him. Would all of you who are of a mind to please remember this family in your prayers?
