Is there anyone, I mean ANYONE out there that knows why this happensw on certain websites? Whwn I first got this computer I was getting that. I have always had that at one time or another on my laptops. Well, it did it for awhile. then suddenly stopped. Now, it's back again. If I want to go on national city to even just view my statement, I can't even get to that part because it comes up before I put my paasword in. If I go on yahoo it does it. No one has ever been able to tell me how to fix this. I just went on yahoo answers. Even there, the best answer was maybe you need, maybe this, maybe that. Now here's a question. Even though I've gone 6 months without getting it, and maybe it will go away, the fact is, I've also always run windows 2000 professional. Well, now, there are some pretty good deals on ebay for windows XP. Can anyone tell me FOR SURE, if I get XP, will that solve the problem. Has anyone gotton XP and still had this problem.

I think you should upgrade your OS to win xp, what version of firefox you use? Or some files are missing or corrupt

Files corrupt is interesting. How can you tell if a file is corrupt? I don't think anyone of them are missing.

firefox.exe can be corrupted by virus one thing you should check is the tools - options ( check security and content tab, thick things you preferred )

Firefox also always crashes in my laptop. I haven't tried reinstalling it but I must do that. It crashes seven times at most in a row. It's terrible, isn't it? I thought I had a hardware error since I also got the blue screen. Maybe mine is a separate case?

Yes it is terrible. Especially Since Firefox is supposed to be so awsome. The only pro blem is, when it's doing it, IE also does it, although usually not on the same web sites. usually, if I can't go on a web site on firefox, I can get get to it on IE. If I can't get to it on IE, I can get to it on firefox. But I just don't like IE. I'm beginning to wonder if I should try getting opera or if I would get the same problem with that.

Hey marty if you have recently upgraded your firefox then don't worry.. it's problem by mozzila development only.. Firefox 3.2 or higher version is still having few issues with stability.. either you can switch to firefox old version or you can wait for more patches come with firefox to be stable.. Good Luck..

What type of router do you have? You may have to change certain settings. I hope you know how to access the menu, otherwise refer to the manual that comes with the router. For example with the router I am using I had the WAN connection to 'connect automatically', and 'always on' There is no problem similar to what you have been experiencing.

No Router. I'm connected to the internet from the DSL modem to the USB on my laptop. I bought this one used at a computer repair shop and they told me the ethernet port does not work. I have a linksys router but I have never been able to get that to work. I have a USB wireless adapter and even that doesn't work.

I think, the problem is not only the browser but also the sites we visit often and the OS we used, usually there are some sites that use the new functions that can not be run by some browsers. I have experienced crashes on a site that may be a function of the browser I use is incomplete, so I open the other sites there were not any problems.

I too facing the same problem then I immediately shifted to netscape browser. But to run various addons. I immediately checked what exactly the problem with my browser. So I reinstalled firefox, but It didn't solve my problem then I updated the firefox using internal update manager. Now its working fine. There might be a problem with library files.
