In most social networks where they ask what your religion is I usually put other. I was raised as a protestant, a liberal church that was as much a social network as it was religion. We were family and close friends. Most of my family is still members of that church. Through my years I've read various holy books from multiple religions and philosophies. Pretty much drinking in as much knowledge and information as I could about each. I have found more similarities in them then differences. Many are outlines on living a good and prosperous life. I take those similarities and the teachings of my parents and live what I hope is a good life. With some of my beliefs I would cringe when I heard may God Bless You, because I've seen what evil has been done in the name of God. With some of the posts here, and on similar social forums on the internet, I have again learned some things. I try to not assume that others believe as I do, especially with how I reached my beliefs, no one has walked the paths I have. I also try not to assume that others will understand how I believe. I'm not sure where I am going with this post beyond just saying that I may say things like Bright Blessings, or Take Care, or have a good day, but in a way I am also saying that in your life and in your beliefs, may God Bless You.

I've been born and brought up in a more or less traditional Hindu family. However I've studied only in Convents and Christian Schools. In our school, we learnt the Holy Bible and sang wonderful Hymns that I still recall and love to sing on my Casio. I feel thankful about learning about other religions and the exposure that I got. I learnt to trust God in all his forms and to love all my Gods. Although I must admit that Christ has been my special favourite. Love to you and God bless!!

There are many avenues to God, and whose to say that there is only one way. Religion can be a tool to enhance one's faith, but to have faith is more important. To claim to be of a particular religion does not prove your faith in what you believe. Your actions are what defines it. Religion comes into play when you want to be among fellow believers, who are on the same path as yourself....you develope a community, support one another, and together you celebrate your beliefs. We'd like to direct every one to the truth, as we see it, but I have trust in the Good Lord that he knows what is going on and he is probably shaking his head at the scene that he is observing - religions fighting against each other - everyone telling everyone else they are wrong. All we can hope for everyone is that we all live life with moral ethics, respect one another, and treat each other in the same manner that we would like to be treated. After all, it is in those actions that we represent our beliefs in the first place.
