Hello friends and dear mylotters,This is not a new movie(hehehe) There is flood in the city where i lived presently. It's been raining here since last night due to storm, and this morning i found out that water is everywhere. It almost reached up inside our garage which is more than 1 foot elevated from the block road in our subdivision. Most of our neighbors whose house floors were almost same level with the street roads were flooded inside their homes. How about in your place now my friends? What's your situation,...and have you ever experience flood in your place?Share your experience and thanks for your comment... Have a great weekend everyone

I hope the flood doesn't reach your house footsteps Jaiho. The weather is gloomy in our place with occasional drizzle. I saw on TV that its flooded anywhere. There was one video where a man on a wheelchair tries to cross a flooded street. I hope everyone will be spared from such worst catastrophe. Hopefully, the flood will subside so that everybody will have a peace of mind.. God bless us all..

hello again Jaiho, THAt is so sad to hear. if only the government should have created a budget that would create under-ground tunnels and sewer system that would take on these excessive waters. there are two troubles now why we have floods. number one, the government simply doesn't have the budget, then second the sewage tunnels are being flooded with trash thrown by some irresponsible citizens.

Hello Letran, My friend you got it right, the irresponsibility of most metro residents caused this floods. Before long ago...city never experience floods like this. But now, even if it just a normal rain, some places here in metro get flooded easily due to clogged drainage and sewer. I hope this will teach some kababayan a good lesson to be learned with their garbage being thrown and dump everywhere and most especially on rivers. And also a wake up to our government officials who were sleeping under lily's(natutulog sa kangkungan baga hmppp!!!! may pakiramdam pa ba sila ?) Hope you are doing fine my friend on this stormy saturday day.

I know the feeling of floods in the city. I grew up with floods in the city. It need not be a very strong downpour before the place gets flooded. Poor drainage is the main culprit and the people are inconvenienced by this - traffic is worse than ever, vehicles are stuck in the water, even diseases are starting because of the stagnant or dirty water. And me, I could not get to work and I have to wade a lot in water and ruin my few pairs of shoes.

In my place, I've also experienced bad thing with floods. When it was happening, we couldn't go to school, not even supermarket. It was totally annoying. But however, flood doesn't happen instantly, it is human who 'unconciously' destroys the nature and the nature gives flood as the result. But now flood doesn't happen all the times.

I am thankful my husband really visioned some calamity that he really built the house elevated higher than the block road. So sad until now,lot of our kababayan are still suffering and being submerged in waters. Thanks again dear and good to know you are also fine, regards to my brother Martin too

i heard on the news that the amount of rain for only 6 hours today is equivalent to one month of the usual rainfall in our country. and the last time it rained this hard was 40 years ago. the flood has reached our garage which is elevated. my sister's house is flooded on the ground floor, more than 6 feet deep. it's like being in the time of noah.

This is the season for flooding, so we have to get accustomed to it. We cannot blame this as this gives life to lives of Earth. Here also it has started raining but not as much as you have mentioned. We rarely have flood in our part of region, yet we have heavy rainfall during the monsoon. Ironically, our farmers have long been waiting for this only to begin the agricultural works

Hello, Jaiho, I hope everything goes on alright to you. The weather here is sunny, quite hot. It's almost in october but we are in hot summer still. My parents-in-law are used to be living in north city, they can hardly fall into sleep without airconditioning. There was Flood when I was very young, I can only recall that we moved to a taller building, and we prepared lots of snacks, fast food. At this time, safety and food are most important. Good luck, my friend.

Hello jaiho. I am a bit alarmed with the sudden rise of floodwater in the city. I was out in one of the strong storms that hit Manila which was Milenyo a few years ago, but I was able to walk EDSA going home. Now I am watching a news flash and it seems even the government is paralyzed because of this storm. I only pray that people in our country will be safe.

Hello anne, Yah,this is very much alarming.City being flooded is not a very usual view to be seen, but now,it is a normal scene when it rain so hard. As where i live,i live near the highway..along C5 road...and it is a high road. And yet, many residence here were being flooded and i can see a lot of people using the overpass as temporary shelter.According to my friends who were sending us text messages, the Palar area, boundary of Makati and Global City was almost drown now.The road is now impassable. And the rain still keeps pouring hard. Let's just pray for this rain to stop so people who were stranded now can get to their homes safely. Thanks for your responce my friend.

hi jaiho. this is one thing good i like where i presently lives, as even heavy rains can't get this place flooded. i know there are some places that gets flood when it rains, but most floods never gets more that one foot high. i have lots of flood experience when i was still living in bulacan and working in manila. in our home place in bulacan, when there's storm, there is rain and even without heavy rains, we have flood. good thing with our ancestral house is the second floor. so when the water is getting high, all things, the appliances need to be brought up. the flood will leave the house into a great mess when water is gone. and everybody needs to work hand in hand to clean the house after the storm. what my family did then is to raise the flooring by at least one foot so that the ground floor becames a foot higher than the ground outside. with that, water will automatically goes out and cleaning the floor will became easy. i just watched the flash report in the tv and i saw what the storm had done in the metro streets, they look like rivers. i pity those people living near the rivers and low places, they seem to be used to the flood and they just can't do anything but to wait for the waters go down.

Hello neil, I woke up this morning and when i look at my window,i saw my son's motorbike being soaked in water/flood almost eat up the wheels. I was really alarmed, never thought the heavy rains for the whole night as i was sleeping so soundly. Good thing is, my house is elevated a foot higher than the street road. But still i am sad seeing my neighbors with waters coming into their houses,as u can see the pictures i attached.I took that picture minutes before posting this topic. And it is getting worst.. As i saw the overpass across my house,i saw lot of people using the overpass as a temporary shelter. Good to know you are safe my friend, help us pray for our kababayan here in metro. Thanks for your responce...

It's been raining here too for a few days now non-stop and a bit cold. Thanks God there's no flooding in the city. I hope the city citizens have learned it's lesson from the last flooding it had this year. The floods in the city are really caused by clogging of the drainage because of the garbage stuck in it. Because no matter what heavy downpour a place have when drainages and other canals and pathways for the rain are well kept and very okay then rainwater will not go out into the streets and into houses and buildings.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully, not too much damage is done. I live in Arizona, and we don't ever get flooded like that. We barely even get a couple inches of rain a year. We get those flash floods, but that's only in the washes, I think. But, that means were not ready for it, either. About 20 years ago, there was a huge storm, and it rained for a week straight. All of the washes were overfilled and water was flooding out the sides. A lot of the roads were flooded out. I don't think anybody here knew what to do. Luckily, we haven't a storm anywhere near that bad since. Well, I hope the rain lets up, wherever you're at.

I hate floods. I think everybody hate floods. In our place, it seldom floods but when it does, it's a real mess out there. People can't go out for work or buy something. People just stay at home. Sometimes, when its flooding, electricity is off as well so it makes it more boring at home, no television, radio or internet. hope it doesn't flood anymore.
