Whether people who do not pay off credit card bill can be free from punishment ? my friend had a lot of credit cards but he said it was one year was never paid even if charged, but he ignored it. What do you think, justify not paying credit card bills will not be a problem ?

Oh, I think if you do not pay your credit cards, it is a BIG problem! Maybe it will not make you go to jail but it will affect your credit score so you will have a bad credit. If you have bad credit, then it will be hard to get a job and a place to live. More employers are checking credit histories on potential employees plus when you rent or buy a house/place to live, they always do a credit check on you. Yes, I think not paying your credit cards is a very bad thing.

There are those kind of people who are irresponsble on paying their dues. What I know of is that this kind of behavior will just be consider as civil liability and will not be treated as a crime thus, credit card company can just impose fines/penalties and damages to the person who is guilty of not paying their creadit card bills. Though some of the company may pass the responsibility of collecting bad debts to the collection agency, usually banks will write it off (those bad debts) after a certain period of time. They will blacklist though those person who did not pay and the database list of those that got bad credit scores where shared by the banks themselves.
