I recently signed up and got chosen for a project on getafreelancer.com. I am just starting to learn about the site and I was hoping some of you have more experience and can tell me more about them. They appear to be pretty legitimate to me, but I'd love to hear what your experiences with them have been like. Both positive and negative. Have any of you upgraded your membership? I'm thinking it might be worth the cost. I actually have a degree in English and journalism, so that makes me a pretty good candidate for lots of the projects on there. What do you think? Please let me know!

I have been a member there for a couple of years and have never had an issue. Basically always been paid when I should have been paid. At the same time I have heard of people having payment withheld because of disputes. I have never upgraded as I only do writing work part time so there is no point in me bidding on excessive numbers of projects, it depends on how much time you will have to work from the site, and how comeptitive your bids will be otherwise you could quickly run out of bids without getting any work.

Well, shortly after I began this discussion I got an email saying that my submission was approved and the guy has sent me 20 more articles to work on. It's not a huge amount of money, but the work isn't all that hard either. Maybe this will turn out to be a really good thing. If only I could figure out how to use it as a stepping stone to bigger and better paying jobs.

Getafreelancer is one of the good freelancer site. I have been with them for couple of years without any problem. However, the bid seems getting lower and lower now due to many "competitor", and therefore i no more work for them. Now i only active in being buyer to buy a "cheap" service overthere.

Is there a better site you've moved to? I'm really interested in earning as a freelance writer whether it's from getafreelancer or somewhere else.

Sorry to say that i'm not an article writer since my english grammar are really bad. I mostly focus on seo stuff. Anyway, i know some of the freinds are looking for article writer, and i can helps to get some article writing job. The rate is about 0.5 cent to 1 cent per word. Wondering why dont you set up a travel blog since you are good in this, and you are actually earn good money by writing review at your own blog. You can get better paid by just short a short review

I recently joined this site. I got one project yesterday, the owner already emailed me in the morning that we can start the job. I read his message early afternoon and so I was already asking for the details so I could start, then suddenly I got an email alert saying that the job is already closed. I was wondering what had happened coz I was not even advised if the project was given to another provider or why it was suddenly closed. But i'm still hoping I will get a good result next time.

I've grown to hate the site since I started this discussion. I was working, like, 7 hours a day for AT BEST $7. That's only a dollar an hour. Forget that!

I have been also a member of this website. but i did not get any project by the time after a number of bids. what i think here the provider decides the cost of the project even they dont know much about the time and complexity often of the project. so a genuine person when tell them about the cost and time to be taken. it seems to be a higher one to them. that is the biggest issue of software engineering for costing and scheduling the project. and many providers to get the project reduce their cost with out think much. due to that they have to compromise with the quality and intigrity that is the main reason of disputes
