The Amazing Human Spirit

The New York Times has a beautiful series on its site right now called one in 8 million. It highlights the lives of normal folks living extraoardinary lives in New York. It always amazes me how the way we live our day to day lives transcend the norm in other people's eyes. I often feel like my own work as an English teacher is pretty mundane, but have been told by others that I've inspired them to learn English, teach, or see the world. I wonder what other amazing stories lie in wait in what would seem like normal packages. I would love to hear the stories of the mylotters out there, living the extraordinarilly normal.
