There are lots of people here wondering what to do - many of us could have good ideas about how to get a new job, how to use the time wisely, so that they can learn some skills, how they could use the skills they already have to start a business and so on.. Please let us know what you could do if you are or maybe will get unemployed. I believe that there must be many possibilities if we just start looking after them. I hope to get responses from people from different countries, since your circumstances are very different..

Great, cher, you have both the opportunity to use your skills to earn extra.. You also live in a country with social security - I think it is safer there than here in Sweden - it is not as easy as it was before to live with help from the municipality or sick insurance. But still we have it better than many other countries with little social security.

hi buenavida well what you do is go to employment agencies and go out on the jobs that they send you to. here in the US and specially in California thousands are out of jobs and my son is one of the many he has been out of work for 11 months now, so it'is serious and you are not alone;you may be out of work for a period of months.get your resume up dated and present it wherever you go, and do not be too choosy as a job of any kind is better than being unemployed. Ask everywhere, anywhere you might think you would like to work, and maybe you will luck out. also net work talk to friends and get tips about where they think you may find jobs.good luck,

Thanks, Hatley - The idea is not to give up, just continue. That is a good way to think and the job or opportunity could be just around the next corner.. I am not searching a job at this time - I am almost retired, but I have done it when I was younger. At least I have learned to live on a low income for long periods and that is an advantage in these times. For many years I was on a study loan, it was a good solution that time when there was problems to find a job, and that loan will disappear soon when I reach 65 in about ten months.
