computersssss- are they useful 2 day?????

It just came to my mind wheter computers are as useful as it is said, to common people today????
are alternate davices or technologies taking hold of computer technology???
i think it's time to redefine the term computer....i use computer to hear musiq,movies, browsing etc... but a pocket device such as a mobile....the only use i find at present is that i could do some practice on programming,as an engg. student hear in kerala, india....donno how it is used on other parts on earth....what do u think??????

Computers are still useful in my opinion you can't get the versatility from other things that you can from a computer, although it is bigger than say a handheld blackberry that will browse at the same speeds will your walking through the subway. But will a blackberry be able to photoshop images and word process like a computer. I think not. There will come a day when things become smaller and the computer becomes obselete but untill then I still find computers useful.

I agree. And we're mylotting right now. We're looking at myLot through a monitor that is part of a computer. Isn't that useful enough!?! You gotta love computers!

Yes , Majority in the Philippines uses computers to connect to the internet.
Laptops are also considered computers.

I have a desktop computer and a laptop computer, I do not have a blackberry or cell phone with internet access. So, for me, yes, my computers are very useful. Really, whether you have those other devices or not, I think that a computer is useful for many things, including writing and storing information. I have no idea how much you can really do with a blackberry, but I wouldn't think that you can so all of the things you can with a regular computer.

The new generation will soon be the common people. The old folks that are computer illiterate will soon be gone. I guess it depends what you want to call a computer. In plain parlance, anything that helps you compute is a computer. We have abacus that the Chinese used eons ago. Then the cash register and the calculator. These are also basic computers with small motherboards and have only limited functionality. some todays IPODS are also computers and so are basic entry hand-phones.

Computers are undoubtedly useful! I mean look how much improvements were being made throughout history by using computers. I would say that computer is the best invention ever!

i think that computers are very useful today, not only for music and movies, for example, i see my girlfriend 3 times a week, and in the others days i talk to her using internet from my pc.
If i use a mobile phone i've to pay a lot of money, from my computer i've only to pay the internet connection every 2 month.
Computer are also vital for business, to manage big association like banks or others.
