Mac or PC?

Which do you prefer and why? I recently went into a Mac store with my brother, who decided to ask loudly in the store "What's so great about Macs anyway when you can get a PC for a quarter of the price?" What is your opinion? Are PCs better or equivalent and cheaper, or are Macs really worth the money? What are the ups and downs of both in your opinion?
