I am like your roommate in a way, i cannot somehow get to sleep at night due to many stress and issues in life, and i tend to sleep early but then end up starring at the ceiling the whole night... The easiest way i think that will help your room mate is that you tell them to stay awake and be active until the body and eyes are really tierd, and then try and get to sleep... That is one of the method that i use to go to sleep... other method is try and eat untill really really full, and then sleep... XD

Your roommates and i are pretty the same. I also wake up in a slightest sound or light. But when im feeling tired i also sleep like a baby. I dont know why but since i was a kid i had this problem. I guess the only method is wear a headphone while sleeping and put some eye patch thingy. Thats the best method im pretty sure yea. . . .

I sleep well, but if hubby starts to snore, i wake up, then it bugs me, keeps me awake, so i have some earplugs..LOL, if she has none, tell her cotton wool is as good. She might also get one of those eye mask things, to keep any light out.

My sleep is getting better because I'm on anti-spastic medication. So, I'm sleeping about six hours a day now which is a major improvement as I used to sleep four. My doctor has been trying to get me on anti-spasmodics forever but, I always said no until I hurt my knee and my spasms got worse. Even though I'm almost all the way better now, I think I'll keep taking the medicine because it really helps.

I can go to sleep easily to, unless there's something so exciting or troublesome which bothers me. But it just delay my sleep for at most an hour. AS usual, reading a hard book (maths book, for ex) can help your friend, otherwise, it must be really serious and she should go to the doctor.

With regard to the reasons for difficulties in falling asleep to the following aspects: First, there are certain diseases, such as neurasthenia; Second, the pressure is too large, such as family illness, and peer disputes, etc.; Third, the negative thoughts and ideas rise to the cognitive distortions, the emergence of mental stress, anxiety, leading to difficulties in falling asleep, such as exaggerating the facts, the matter football in his body, to jump to conclusions, etc.; The fourth, mental fatigue and the physiological function of strong, but due to difficulty falling asleep; Fifth, there is no specific reason, just because of past poor quality of sleep, over time develop a habit; ... .... First of all, before bed, put on her limbs feel the most comfortable position, experience the feeling of the body to relax; Secondly, the brain left to think or remember anything at random, do not force yourself to fall asleep and when, and do not force yourself to not want anything. When no longer troubled sleep, the negative emotions of the excited state will be gradually weakened, "vicious cycle" was broken, there is a natural sleep situation has improved.

For the past month, I have to force myself to sleep and if I didn't, I just might take three days or more without sleeping. I just got a lot in my head. Most usually, when I don't get to sleep easily, there are stuff I'm thinking about and can't get off my mind. So it would be advisable to unwind. One could resort to a night cap, a glass of milk, a few pages of a book, watching TV or as simple as having a glass of water. Sometimes, I do tire myself to sleep like exercising for a few minutes until I get exhausted. But most times, I go for a night cap or drink heavily. The only problem I get with drinking is I wake up only after a few hours and then I can't sleep again. If any other method doesn't work, your friend might as well have a doctor consulted.

I sleep easily, but lightly. I can be woken up very easily. I can't sleep through any noise or anything. I take a couple naps a day. Sleep is my favorite thing to do. I am disabled so everything tires me out, so then it's nap time. In my dreams I'm able bodied, maybe that's why I like to sleep so much. I always liked to sleep, my mother says when I was a baby she would have to wake me up to feed me. I look forward to bedtime, the only thing that disturbs me is how many times I have to get up to go to the bathroom. I seem to sleep better when it's hot, and I live in Pgh. so that's not too often. When it's cold I don't want to get up because it's nice & warm under the covers.
