Taj Mahal

Do you feel the Taj Mahal is a true depiction of undying love or the misguided efforts of an old emperor trying to write his name in the annals of history? Shah Jehan had also began a Black Taj Mahal for himself on the banks of the Yamuna but was cut short by his son Aurangzeb, imprisoned and killed. This project never really saw the light of day.But does it not show that these efforts on the part of the Emperor was to show off and flaunt his abilities and wealth rather than an actual show of love.

Have not been to India. Hopefully one day I can visit this wonder of the world. Really sad to hear about the story behind the founder of Taj Mahal. A son killed his own father...but why? Thanks for sharing the story with us here. I do think that this Emperor has his own agenda..
