The diet that I favor most is one my cardiologist gave me. It is simple. Cut out the whites. White flour, pasta, sugar, potatoes, bread. No nuts, no juice, no sodas, no dried fruits. Eat only fresh fruits and vegetables - easy on carrots and corn . Eat only baked, broiled, boiled, grilled. 2 tablespoons of peanutbutter per day. Eat all you want of these things. Canned tuna in water. Lean cuts of meat. Limit beef to once or twice a week. Skin your chicken and turkey. 2 Tablespoons of fat allowed (use this to stir fry your veggies and your meat together - make a great main course like a chinese dish -3 oz of meat goes a long way very filling) Try to work your way up to 10,000 steps a day. That averages out to 6 miles. Notice I said work your way up to.... LOL. I had fibromyalgia, so I started out walking to the front door on day one, then to the sidewalk a couple of days later, and so forth and so on. You get the idea. This works. I lost 70 pounds in a relatively short period of time.

Thank you .You've provided all the essential details of an ideal diet. The way you've described the way food has to be cooked is very useful to me.

wow you sound like my doctor and my dietician, are you'professional by any chance. anyway thats the ideal diet and I do need to lose 50 pounds badly. so first to the front door then out, okay sound too easy but I'sure need to lose that weight. I used to put myself on the 10000 steps when I worked in the library and I did get far more steps daily then I expected to. guess I need to do that again. lol.

Do you like to eat some food made out of beans.Beans contains several kinds of proteins and nutritions which we need.If you eat bean food of several kinds of beans, you don't have to eat so much meat.Meat and eggs contain more cholesterin than corn. Eggs is good food with protein. But it contain alot of cholesterin. Most cholesterin is in yolk.So you just choose to eat egg white.

A truly healthy diet is composed of a variety of foods that provide a wide array of nutrients. It is also "balanced" - composed of healthy amounts of fats, carbs, and protein. If you eat fewer calories than you burn off in a day, you will lose weight. If you ate 1200 calories worth of ice cream sundaes, you would lose weight.

Beans are good source of protein which if consumed one can avoid the non veg foods high in fat and cholesterol as you have rightly put it.

picjim no not really as a lot of more fatty meat has high cholesterol counts. also too much protein can wreak havoc on your kidneys as they cannot handle all that protein, a 'balanced diet would be much better with complex carbohydrates as carbs are not what causes high cholesterol in people it is the fats of meat and cheese, the bad fats, the good ones are olive oil and nuts of all kinds.

Hatley, a good cardiologist put me on the right track after she confirmed I did not have a heart problem, just a weight problem. Eat right and in moderation with a bit of exercise and you don't have to count calories. Funny how it all works out. Pun intended.
