freecyle clubs exist in several countries (including the uk) ever come across any unsual offers or requests? i don't know if this person ever did get a lightbulb for his pet which i would guess was to keep the beastie warm rather than give it something to read by. in that same digest there were some very tempting offers - a bottle opener, grass and a potty.

Nice thing this freecycle club. Please ask in my name if anyone have any of following to spare for free: - 5k euros; - a "Sir" certificate with my name on; - west wing of Buckingham palace; - a tortoise lightbulb.

You really don't want to live in nob palace as the 5K won't even cover the servants bill.

I belonged to a freecycle group here in my city and the stuff that people were asking for was crazy. I can't remember all of it but, one thing that sticks out was a complete bed set, mattress sheets everything. I would not want to sleep on a used mattress LOL

Much more asking than offering. The mod sent out emails every day saying the same thing about "please limit your wants to 2 a week per member". The people were so picky, example: "I want a car for work but, it has to look nice get good gas mileage and have affordable car insurance" I just got so pissed at the wants I ended up dropping out.

Hi jb, once again I am clueless to what you are talking about but I don't have a spare lightbulb for you, sorry about that. I do have two tortoises in my olive grove, rustling through the grass. I don't let them in the house though or anywhere near my lightbulbs, they really seem happy enough outside where there are things to eat, it's all a myth that you need to buy them lettuce you know.

freecycle is a way for people to recycle things they don't need and for others to get free things. don't know if you have it in greece. this man was asking if anyone had a spare tortoise lamp they could give him.

That sounds like a good way to save some money, especially if these things are still in a very useful shape. And during this economical crisis everybody seems to find good ways of saving money, but the benefit of recycling is also lesser polution in the long run. I dont remember any recent wierd offers or requests, but maybe i should set up a request myself. Since im seeking Dutch people living in the Netherlands of legal age, which will help me with my survey, which takes a max of 2 minutes to fill in. Completly anonymous. I wonder if i would have any luck finding those on MyLot.

Lol I would request Dutch people living in the Netherlands of legal age to help me out. The survey is for my thesis so i can get my exams ;) If i where to request real things, lets see, i think i would like an aquarium fully equiped with light and filter to get back into the fishkeeping hobby.

no, we don't have any freecycle groups here. but junk buyers are very common and popular. they buy almost everything (by weight)..from old newspapers to broken buckets...which i presume are recycled.
