In Love with McDonald's Southwest Chicken Salad

Hi shar, I have to say it sounds truly awful but then I wouldn't expect Mcdonalds to be able to come up with a decent salad. It will not be chicken on it but some rehydrated goop from the cutting room floor pasted together to resmemble chicken, mixed in with it sounds a lot of tinned stuff. It would be much healthier just to prepare a nice salad at home.

That is a good one. They didn't have the one I used to order and I had to hurry and order one because someone I was with said order and I'll pay. It was goood. I enjoyed it very much. I'm thinking about making my own version.

I think I tried it once, it was pretty good. I usually order the Southwest Chicken Taco Salad at Goldie's, its similar, and very good too.

I haven't tried it, I'm not a McDonalds fan but lately they have introduced some new stuff that made me try them again. I like Wendy's southwest salad because it has chili in it. Thanks for the suggestion.

That does sound yummy. I have to admit I have never tried it. Jack in the Box has a fajita that sounds a little like what you describe but I have not had this salad from McD's. I might have to take a trip there and try this salad as a am a big salad eater. Mostly when I go to McD's I have burgers or fish.

Wow that sounds yummy :) I eat so much salad LOL Mostly salads I prepare at home or there is a greek restaurant nearby that makes wonderful ones. I can't say I've really tried the McDonald's salads... except for the ones they started with years ago and I found them so tiny that they weren't very satisfying. The Southwest Chicken one you describe sounds like it would be more substantial. Is that one of the newer ones they've added to the menu? I don't usually go to McDonald's so maybe I need to pay closer attention!

That does sound good! I tried Dole's Southwest salad and liked it so much that I discovered a way to make my own Southwest dressing. All you have to do is get a 16 oz bottle of ranch dressing and pour a packet of Taco seasoning into it, shake well and you have the Southwest dressing! I use "lite" dressing to make it better for my diet. It's also great sauce to bake chicken with.

Hi ya Shar19 Nope I haven't tried this but then I wouldn't touch any salad that has corn in it I'm afraid, I can't stand it. If I got to McDonalds I always have a burger as I can have salad any time really!
