A typical day in the Indian highway we find is full of neat little shacks with tables serving food like Rotis(a sort of bread made with flour),lentils, chicken and other meat curries to go with the rotis. We find truck drivers, youngsters and couples enjoying the atmosphere and food. The truck drivers after a hard journey rest under the starry sky in beds made of wood and natural chord.Dear mylotters please share your view on this neat feature of Indian Countryside.

On our highways, we have designated service stops. At some stops you will just find toilets and perhaps a few hawkers selling take away food and drinks. At other stops, you find full-fledged support from filling stations to ATM machines, food courts, souvenir stores, mosques and even mini playgrounds for the kids to play. The food cost more than the usual price in town. There is a good 'satay' stall in one of the major stops. You can phone and book ahead before you arrive at your meal. Many take home packed 'satays' (barbecued skewered meat of beef, chicken, mutton and even venison).

You seem to have a wide choice to choose from and with places to entertain kids.I think it must be exciting and fun to visit these places.

We have many roads that go for miles and miles without anyone or anything except the land beside the road. In the cities and small towns you will find places such as you discribed along the road. But in the big cities there are roads that go over or around the city and there is no way to get off except at certain off ramps. I think it would be great fun to visit your country.
