Onions are on mega sale this week and I LOVE cooking with them! I'm planning on buying a bunch of onions when I go to the grocery store this week. I love to caramelize onions for a variety of dinners. I also like eating them raw on burgers n such. We use onions diced up along with other veggies for eggs in the morning. Since I will have so many onions - I was hoping to hear what recipes you use onions in? I'd love to hear your ideas for them and feel free to include any great recipes YOU'VE USED!

Beef stew by all means, you cannot make it without a l ot of good onions. also cut up in cornedbeef hash or roast beef hash they are delicious and just fried with hash browns and eggs over easy with lots of hot coffee, yummy yum. Then too there is that delicius french onion soup that I so love to eat.

Hi Hatley I add lots and lots of onions to my beef stew too but Takis at the taverna makes the best beef stew I've ever tasted and hardly adds any onions at all but he swears by the fact that he uses a certain cut of beef for his stew and I've no idea what that cut is in English but rather alarmingly in Greek the cut is called mouse. Imagine my horror when I first saw mouse on the price board at the local buthchers.

I love eating onions with some italian sausage cooked in a skillet. Also you could make some french onion soup. I don't have a recipe for it but I don't think it is too hard to make. Don't forget the cheese melted on top.

Hi jenlk, caremised onions are indeed such an enjoyable treat and also roasted onions in olive oil are delicious and cooking them that way brings out all the sweeteness of them too without actually adding the sugar as we do when we carmelise them but they do still need to be peeled, in fact I made roasted shallots last night and was crying into them.
