Have Your Interest Rates Jumped Up Lately?

For me this is a personal pet peeve. Paying off your Credit cards on time, having decent Credit with the companies, even having them up your Credit with them from time to time due to paying more than you owe all of the time, and then BAM.. Suprize, you get a notice from them that your interest rate just jumped. It was at a fixed rate, and then all of a sudden it increases on you for NO real reason.
For me, I have had this just happen, and it infuriates me, and then they say if you do not agree you can opt. out which cancels your Card and if you are not at a 0 balance, you still have to pay off that card but not be able to use it. When you think they bailed out all of the Banks, to have them happen, is it fair they can do this? Who really is in charge?
For me this is one of the worst things they can do, and now I will definately be watching more closely what my Card is being used for, and keep things down to a minimum in Case of Emergency, etc. for sure.

I don't use credit cards so don't have to worry about that. I bet u would be better off if u didn't use them either. I learned a long time ago to live w/in my means. I wish more people would learn to do that & not get into trouble w/credit cards as so many of them do.

I guess I'm lucky because my credit card rate has gone down instead of going up. they even offered me to skip a payment a while back. I haven't used it for over a couple of years. I really hate have had to depend on a credit card for emergencies. I really think that credit cards are the bane of the economy. and people with thousands of dollars of debts to them helped to bring the economy down.
