I really would like to get a yorkshire terrier as a pet. They are so little and cuddly. Does anyone of you here has a yorkshire terrier or knows about them? What do you suggest about this dog breed?

Well, I can tell you how our Maggie was (we lost her to congenital heart failure when she was 14.) Keep in mind that yorkies were originally bred for vermin control (rat catchers) and can show that inbred attitude for dealing with such. Maggie did not like fast moving things (kids, for instance or cats). It brings out the chaser in them. However, they are bonders and the younger ones like to play..bouncing and jumping and yipping about. They like toys and have favorites but can get jealous and snippy about not being #1.. When we first got Maggie she was already an 'old girl', 10 If I remember correctly, and set pretty much in her way. She bonded with me. I was her people 'pet'. She liked being walked and which I did often tho' sometimes not often enough. She sometimes took it upon herself to go questing on her own. She slept with me and she drank from my glass. We shared our space and our love. She had an incredible vulture routine when eating was involved and you could almost hear her thinking..'Drop that over here..NOW!' As said, she didn't care for cats (we had a couple then). She'd yip and snap at 'em, but the cats never paid her any mind..like one might deal with an old biddy wagging finger and tongue..shrug and go on with what you were doing..Tho' I couldn't help but think that Maggie thought she'd run them off all nice and proper as she'd ascend to her thrown (beside where ever I was) and she got along with the other two dogs..oh, and we had to keep little t-shirts on her. They tend to get cold easily.. I know I've done a lot of ramblin' and I don't know that any of it helped in your decision..A lot just has to do with the environment..But I got to think of my little lady again for a spell and for that I thank you.. ENJOY!

Its good to know quiet lots of things before one introduces a particular pet at home especially if they require certain things. thanks again!
