Who is the 12th Iman? http://www.danielpipes.org/blog/2006/09/more-messianism-from-ahmadinejad He is the promised world ruler to come. He is the promised 'messiah' of Islam. And Iran's president has prayed before the UN general assembly for his appearance. Trouble is...the Islamic prophecy says he will come in a time of great warfare and bloodshed. IS THIS WHY IRAN JUST HAD TO HAVE NUKES? It is no secret that Iran's president Ahmadinejad believes HE will usher in the arrival of the 12th Iman. Frankly folks....is Armeggedon far off?

I'm not sure I know how to respond to this, or if in truth anyone does. Fair warning, as if you'd not already noticed, I disagree with you on a lot of fundamentals, however, I don't want to initiate a fight here, just some thoughts... It would seem to me, that every major (western/middle-eastern/Abrahamaic and anti-Abrahamiac) religion wants/expects a saviour. The Christians await the return, the Jews the first coming, the Muslims the 12th Iman(there's also another name for him--is it Mahdi? can't remember), the Luciferians their Christ/Anti-Christ--and no doubt those latter, if they don't get a real manifested by the prince of darkness kind of being, will undoubtedly manufacture their own, and present him as all of the former--this has been a Luciferian-Zionist-Freemason-Jesuit plan all along I suspect. I suspect we are heading for some kind of "end times" but I don't believe they are planned or sanctioned by God, I don't believe that to be in God's nature--I believe through the hate and selfishness, perversion and evil, or our world's leaders and their manipulation of the masses through religion and politics, will make it happen--to get their wishes (a la Georgia Guidestones/Malthusian) of massive speciel de-population--which, ironically, if they wait too long either nature or they will have to do something drastic, for we are lacking any current benevolent leadership to head the population growth and ensuing struggle for finite resources off at the pass. What's going on in the middle-east? It's all a propaganda show... Meanwhile, no one's mentioning Israel's indignation at it being suggested that they obide by the nuclear proliferation treaty like the rest of us (i.e. especially the rest of the middle east), nothing is ever said or done about the conditions of the Palestineans, meanwhile everyone involved in the middle east, despite any silly rhetoric otherwise, continues to enflame the war and hate there, trapping countless civilians, light-skinned and dark, Persian, Arabian, Semitic (and so-called "Semitic"), Jew, Christian, Muslim, soldiers and civilians--in a meat grinder.

The cures are obviously Love and truth. Something that many messiahs, prophets, and saints would have us adhere to, but something that institutions and leaders manipulate, and frankly, all people tend to as well--we want our version of the truth, not the truth as it is.

I obviously don't agree with you, but I am not in the habit of 'fighting' about my beliefs. You are entitled to yours, I'm entitled to mine. That is the basis of 'free choice'. May I ask you where does evil come from? Do you believe in the existence of pure evil? What do we, as humans have to do about our propensity to evil...you mentioned many groups that you believe are causing this mess...what is the ultimate 'cure' for their 'wrongness' or evil?

So you do believe that there is TRUTH, or are you refering to truth in terms of human understanding of the concept of what is true. Also...what can we do to be sure we HAVE THE TRUTH...and are not following someone's perception of what truth is?

No one has the inside track on prophecy, although there are many who believe they do. Ahmadinejad is full of himself but, basically, he's an evil, hateful man who wants nukes so that he can attack his neighbor for having the nerve to exist. And eventually his neighbor will respond with nukes of their own. There very well may end up being warfare and bloodshed...in his country...caused by him. Armeggedon though? I doubt it.

I tend to agree that prophecy is misinterpreted often. The coincidence of Armeggedon's predicted place being the plain of Jezreel, or Meggido, is chilling. If you consider that Ahmadinejad has such vehement hatred for the Jews in Israel...? And the fact that the armies of the eastern 'kings' numbers 200,000,000 and that is only possible in this modern age?...and the description of the clean up afterwards sounds very much like a description (in various Bible verses) of cleaning up after bio or nuclear war. Did you know that the word 'elements' as in 'the elements will melt with a fervent heat' in scripture is a perfect way to describe atomic warfare?

I remember reading in a Biblical apologetics work...that the word translated elements is the root word for uranium. Never investigated it thoroughly though. Would be an interesting study.

I believe that what Ahmadinejad prays for is addressed in the bible and I take comfort from the Bible promises: Matthew 24: 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only 42 Watch therefore; for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Lk. 12.39, 40

Whiteheather...may I clarify something just for the record. For every truth of God, and I believe those scriptures as well, satan has a counterfit. He's really not original at all....lol. My mention of the Islamic shite belief that this promised one will arrived during a time of great upheaval and bloodshed is what is behind the jihad mentality of radical Islam....and Ahmadinejad may just be trying to prepare the way?
