How to wirelessly connect XP desktop and Vista laptop ?

I want to connect my laptop and desktop wirelessly without using a wireless router.Desktop is using windows XP home edotion and laptop windows vista home basic. Connection of these two can enable me to share a common printer.

If your laptop and desktop have both WIFI then you can connect them wireless, like a P2P system in cabled network with cross cable.

Friend if you wish to transfer file then there is a solution for it. But i dont think so that there is any way for your problem. If you wish you can try for team viewer this might help you out but you got to have internet connection for both the system. If you wish to share the same printer then create a local area network where your system with the main printer connected gets the main connection then with the help of LAN you can share docs and get the prints easily.
