So we had a staff draw this week, and I won a bottle of Mona-Vie which is an Acai berry juice. The brochure has a bunch of claims as to it's health and weight loss benefits, but I'm kind of curious to see whether or not anyone else has ever tried it or knows someone who has, and what your opinions are?

Acai berry has a lot of important nutrients and other stuff like antioxidants that can help our body. Acai berry can also improve your cardiovascular health, raise your energy level, rejuvenate your muscles and more. You can check the blog link below for more information about Acai Berry. http://www.mercolacatalog.com/natural-health-products/gain-energy-and-antioxidant-protection-from-the-nutritious-acai-berry/

I recently wrote some articles on this and I found that while they have very good benefits due to their anti-oxidants, weight loss that resulted from them were minimal. They're healthy for you but won't impact your weight unless you use them as a supplement to a calorie and fat restricted diet.

Acai berries are high in antioxidants, fiber, and Omega 3, 6, and 9 fats (the "healthy" fats) as well as amino acids, all of which is very good to include in your diet, each having their own benefits. Like fiber is good for the digestion system and helps control cholesterol, as does the Omega fats. Antioxidants help repair and prevent damage that is caused by cells releasing free radicals when they use oxygen. I read one source that says to be sure the product does not contain the seed of the berry. The benefits are in the skin and the flesh of the berry, and since the seed is about 90%, if it is included you are getting a diluted product.
