So we are supposed to believe that Ross was able to dive down and find the boat keys he threw overboard. He didn't have any gear, not even a mask and the water was choppy enough to indicate that it had some depth like at least 20 feet. Also, by the time he went looking the next morning the boat would have drifted quite a bit so he wouldn't have had any kind of fix on where he had thrown them to know where to even begin searching.
