Often, I used to tell my students, that I would not be alive without my ablity to read. Which is true. I tell them the ability to read lets you know that a sign says poison and that another says watch out, electric current.
My photographic memory allows me to remember everyones name at work and all my students too. My favorite movie is a Beautiful Mind. I believe some of my experiences are like John Nash minus some of those experiences left out of the movie. The Real John nash is stated to have had homosexual experiences and spat out some anti semetic language in his day. I have not shared neither of those experiences.
But what I do share is experiences of making people uncomfortable because of my vocabulary, the arrogance I have sometimes have exhibited and the aloofness I sometimes have. I have alot of others problems he had also. Probably this biggest is his depression but no I dont hear or see people. In reality, in the book by the same name,he says he didnt either. But he got caught up in delusions and got caught into believing his intelligence made him priveledged in some way.
What I have found, and according the movie, John Nash finally found, is that intelligence is just one part of the package, though it can be a very important part. But as he stated in the movie, he had gone to the intellectual, the metaphysical, and the delusional, but the most important thing we can have is love. Love is the key to life, with it you we can survive and overcome anything and with love we can rise above even demons within and without.

I think my son has a photographic memory. He is three and amazes me everyday with the details he recalls from situations. His vocabulary is outstanding and his attention to detail is phenomenal. I agree totally that love is the key to life. Love conquers all and makes us appreciate and tolerate many different things.
