Pawning articles: do you consider it an option?

How do you feel about it? There maybe times when we find ourselves in terrible financial difficulty, either something came that needs money and we are caught unprepared, we are low in cash, do you have any qualms going to the pawnshop? Aren't you afraid that you may eventually lose the item? How do you do it? Any idea?
