Almost all of us do have cellphones, from having the obsolete ones to the latest ones. Some people changed their phones almost every month some changed every time it breaks up. Texting is the most convenient type of communication wherein you can express whatever you want to express especially if the person is far from you. I saw people driving holding the steering wheel while texting but his eyes is on the road. I also saw student while pretending to listen to her teacher but under the table is texting. Wow amazing isn't it.Did they memorized already the keypads of their phones or are they really texting. I've tried doing that but my words where not that accurate. What about you can you text while not looking at your phone?

nokia phone that i use in texting - my phone that i use in texting
i am fast enough to draft my text messages but i cannot do it without looking at the keys. my oldest son can do that. he drafts his text messages even while driving and that is always the cause of our arguments. his fingers on the phone while his eyes are focused on driving. there is a city ordinance banning the use of cellphone while driving. it is really dangerous and he met minor accidents on the road already ... he doesn't admit he was not texting but i really believed so.

texting while driving causes accidents - son damaged the car as a result of texting while driving
additionally, we should not use the cellphone while driving. i am showing here a picture of the car my son drove and damaged as a result of using the cellphone while driving. from that incident, he learned his lesson and never used his phone again while the car is running.

HI vopols, I do see some teens can text rapidly without looking at the key pad at all. They do this so smoothly while chatting with their friends either hanging around the shopping mall or sitting at the food court and etc. I believe these young guys can do this so skillfully is due to the countless practices unconsciously. Yeah, they spend lots of their time communicating with their friends. I don't text frequently so I'm not familiar with the keypad. I could hardly text without looking at the keypad of my phone. I even text wrongly looking at the phone. I can type without looking on my pc keyboard only Happy posting

yes i can, i am use to it as i alway send text messages to my family and friends, but i also have this habbit to read it first before sending cause i may never be perfect all the time, keypad don't really change in its content its just the style of the phone which to me its not that much of a change, anyway i don't often change my handphone like others and that makes it even faster to get used to texting while not looking.

Yes i can type with out looking at my cellphone but I don't use text messages that much. I mostly call the person if I have to say anything as its more easier to do. Some of friends can type really very fast as if they are typing in the keyboard.

Uhmm. yep I can do it. lOl. I have done it many times, during meetings, or trainings.. hehehe.. I have no idea when i started doing this, but I had this revelation, when one time I was with my cousins who visited us here in our country, I was talking to them while texting, then my cousin pointed it out to me.. she said, it's amazing that I can do that, and that I text really really fast. lol. Anyway, I think it's also because I have been texting for so long, and I text a lot... everyday, I think I sent almost 50 - 70 texts.. good thing I have the unlimited text plan... so it's not really hard on the pocket. lol.

yep.. i think it's a skill too.. i can also do the same when using a calculator.. since I am a graduate of b.s. accountancy, and during my college years, my calculator was my best friend. lol. It really takes a lot of practice before i really memorize the keypad.

The Philippines is of course the texting capital of the world! And I am proud to say that I am also one of those who can text without looking at my phone. It's not much of a talent, but it can surely be handy especially when you're in class or when in public transportation where it's important to keep your phone hidden and kept safe. It's not that hard! Just a little getting used to and you're good to go!

Hi Vopols, I have been holding on to my handphones more than ten years and now I am good in texting without looking at my handphone.SOmetimes, when my eyes were on television programme,I can text my husband or friend at the same time. and let you guess, seldom caught a word error while I am doing it. I love texting and I do it everyday with my husband and friends. I can just type anything that I like, simply asking what are you doing and other stuffs. I only won't hold on to my handphone when I am driving. it is too dangerous to play texting while you are driving as you can't even concentrate on your driving.

Hiya Vopols.. Texting is one of my past time activity. I used to have a Nokia phone with its keypads worn out by constant usage. I have already memorized all the letters and characters in their corresponding keys. A friend made fun of my phone because of the condition of is keypad. I can also do it while closing my eyes and the only thing I can not do is memorized the location of my contact without looking at the screen (hehehehhehe). Anyway, right now I can not do it in such kind of fashion because I changed my phonw e to a Sony-Ericsson brand. It has a different set of assigned keys for the characters. Im still learning to memorize everything and hopefully use and memorize the keypad even if I am half-conscious.. Happy lotting..

Yes kid i agree with you familiarity is very important and the same time memorization that is why many people the same as you are who are really fun of texting can text even with a closed eye. Right now you are using a new phone you are still learning on the right keys hopefully around a year you can do the same thing as what you did on your Nokia phone. Thanks to you.

Hi Vopols... happy mylotting dear friend... as you said current generation is not new to mobile utility... Texting has merely become a part of our lives... so its no longer a great deal to type in a message without looking at the cell phone... I can myself type message without looking at the keypad while watching tv or while walking in the road or when i am inside the train...... it has become a habit because i do it atleast hundred times a day... hence i really got it memoried in my mind...

Yes, I can text without looking at the keypad while texting. It was my past time habit before so whether i change my phone or not I can easily memorize my keypad and the characters. Before sending I see to it to read just t check the characters that I type are correct.

It's difficult for me to type the right texting when I didn't look at my phone, because of the small keypads. I think those people and students can do that without looking at their phone, because they often use their phone frequently. I don't like to change my phone frequently, if I like the one best, I hope it can works very well forever, but it's impossible.lol

My phone has a full keyboard, so i don't really need to look at it. I still will look while selecting whom I am texting.

I'm a late bloomer when it comes to texting. My children can send and receive a text message faster than i can. I don't think it would be a good idea for me to not be looking at my phone when i text. Could be disastrous! I'm sure my teens would have no problem with texting without looking!

YES i can text with out looking at the keypad, Actually a lot of mobile companies are making new technologies today there are some touch screen phones, qwerty type phones, round keypad, scroll keypad and other kind of phones. I am good in numeric or old fashion keypad of phones I'm also good in round keypad. but I think it might be difficult for me to use the qwerty and touch screen. HUHUHUH that would be very difficult for me to text, why? because its new for us but if we study it and familiarize it we can cope it like numeric keypad. Hmm i have a touch screen phone but I don't use the digital /virtual keypad I'm using my stylus pen for texting I'm much faster than virtual.

Yes. It took a while to learn it af first. The middle button has a dot on it. so i kno where the buttons are next to it. I remembered the letters on each button but i do glance at the txt jus to make sure i spelt everything right but it only takes a sec. It is pretty cool when you think about it though
