So we're still listening to the Peter, Paul and Mary CD in the car. Dearra syas to me this morning, "Mom, why didn't they call it Peter, Paul and Patty?" "Um, because her name is Mary." "Yeah, but it doesn't fit." "How about Peter, Paul and Paradox?" "Peter, Paul and Pathetic?" Then she says, "well at least I don't have to listen to Right Field today". For some reason she's taken a dislike to that particular song. So I said, "I can move it to that song." "NO!!!" Goes into a 12 year old tirade about why the song is so stupid, "it's sung badly, it's about a kid who's awkward and slow", bla bla bla... So I said, "it's an inspirational song. It's about a boy who is awkward and then one day he makes a brilliant catch." "I don't care. I don't like it. Do you like it Naomi?" "NO!!!" So I said, "well Cary likes it!" "No he doesn't. Do you like it Cary?" Said very softly, "no"... So I went into my Dearra imitation. "Geez, people. It's a song about a boy who thinks he can't do something and then it turns out he can. He feels better about himself. It's a beautiful song. WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!" OK well they still don't like the song, but it got a laugh.

Hi dawn, How about Peter, Paul and Parable? I think this combination would work better. Now coming down to the children not liking the song played repeatedly is natural. Possibly then want something new and you have to bow down to pathetic.

Peter, Paul and Parable is actually very appropriate. It's almost time to change the CD. But they don't like the song to be played even once!

Sorry, you are in a fix. What would you do now? I happy that the addition or change was accepted.

Oh I will eventually change the CD. Probably to the Beatles. They never complain about the Beatles. But I like expanding their little horizons occasionally!

"Peter Paul and Passed Over" now I am afraid Dawn. When you are 12 you are so certain that you're right that nobody else can possibly change your mind. Having been 12 for some years I know that for a fact!

Ah...Kids these days just do not appreciate decent music...The main thing is that you all had a laugh; that’s what the kids will remember before the music. When they’re all grown up they’ll recall having fun in the car with Mum and that’s pretty cool! Peter, Paul and Pathetic...That is a bit rough...Funny though!
