Recently, I was browsing ebay shopping website.. I was looking the Indian website of ebay. I came across new orginal Windows Xp with Sp3 is sold for just Rs 700. I was suprised to see the price tage. Soon I asked the seller, is it a tutorial cd or Original operating system cd. His reply was it is bootable disk and with serial key. My doubt here is friends, should I believe this seller and one more advantage is that I can return the product back if I am not happy with it.. Shall I buy it or not. please guide me.. How can a operating system cost in PC shops are sold as high as Rs.6000 is sold at such a low price.. Can anyone help me???

What ever be the reason you are given option for returning back which is a good sign. So if the DVD does not work properly you can return back. And the price is also very less so try once does not take anything from you. Do read feedback if possible and then react.

There are a few reasons why it could be cheap. It may be listed for a low price with the expectation that bidders will run the price up. Sometimes, bidding can get intesne as bidders decide they don't want to lose and then end up bidding much more than they intended. A bigger reason, though, might be that Windows 7 is scheduled to come out. (It's due here in the US this month). When comes out, Microsoft is going to stop supporting XP and will not issue any new patches or updates. Te ebay seller may be anticpating this and trying to sell copies of XP before they become more out-dated.

But friend, I bought Windows Vista Ulimate DVD without any bidding. I bought from buy now category and it was sold for me Rs 800/-. The cd was not having Microsoft logo sticker and this copy was reproduced and they are giving me a licence key. I wonder how is it possible, in Computer stores it costs around Rs 11,000/-.. How is this seller who sold me is selling for so low price and another seller is selling so high.. I am confused but what I understood is that the seller who sold me might have stolen serial keys from microsoft or somewhere.. That is why he is selling for so less price. I am happy with software and I do not know how these seller do these tricks..

its true. he is not cheating you. actually if you order windows xp from microsoft website now (with sp3) you will have to pay only rs 500 (only the shipping fees) this is due to the fact that microsoft has officially stopped support for windows xp and is giving away xp discs at extremely low rates. free actually as you are paying the shipping fees only
