Hello countrymen it is really so sad and worrying seeing some of our countrymen suffering from latest calamities and there is one more coming in...where are our "predentiables" nowadays. Is it now is the right time to help? I never seen them except Sec. Teodoro who benefited this calamities. A blessing in disguise in part of Sec. Teodoro...though we could never say it is politicking in part of him but I am sure every victim would never forget him...a great credit for him... What's your assessments on this my friend....?

Yes that is really true. People could not think that this is a great advantage for him to be in the position that is really needed by the masses. It seems like it got him on an advantage point since he is the current chairman of the NDCC and his position was given enough exposure to gain confidence of the masses. Oh well we could not say he steps down since for now there is no one to replace his position now that his services are needed very much. Anyway he is on a very advantageous position to have all the government resources mobilized.

I was observing Mr. Teodoro and it seems that he doesn't use this as an opportunity to boost his moral. All of his things he does is to really help the calamity victims and as an NDCC Chairman he is really tasked to be on top of everything. I think we should not take this as early campaigning and he should not capitalize on this when election time comes.

Sec. Teodoro must be really lucky; and the Filipino people misshappen. He really benefited the sudden calamity (not in a bad way), I mean with all those publicities and what more it coincides with his platform of government (to face floods, lol). I just wonder, were his disaster prevention measures really implemented? Then why do many people not so aware and caught so out of the blue by the typhoon? See, not prepared, calyxus

Yes because in general we are not yet capable in handling worst situation (calamities)..authorities never expected this worst scenario after Ondoy passed. As what I knew, this is the first worst that happen in Manila after 49 years...thanks anyway for responding...

All right, we really aren't prepared for such drastic flood. But hey, I know we can get over with it sooner than later. Filipinos are good at hurdling any negative circumstances. No need to worry about it. Fightin' good, calyxus

In these times, I think everyone wants to help in a way they can. Secretary Teodoro, being a government official and in-charge of it, is just doing his jobs, despite the blaming of others on the government regarding disaster preparedness. No one wants these to happen. I saw something in Sec. Teodoro and I think he's worth to be a presidentiable, too. The needy needs our help and prayers.

Yes you're right also my sister. In this situation, though we may not say "politicking" Sec. Teodoro got his exposures a lot and this could be one of his tools in his forthcoming political campaign period...thanks anyway for responding..

It's not only Sec. Gilbert Teodoro who is taking advantage of the calamity that hit the Philippines. Many presdentiables are trying to get the attention of many poor Filipinos. Helping the Filipino victims of typhoon Ondoy ig good but making it as an advantage in the coming Presidential election is a turnoff. I hope we will all be wise enough to vote for those who really want to make the Philippines improve its economy and a ncie place to live in.

Yes my friend. It's too late knowing that some were also doing that. Yes, we should not be lured of this "pogi points" of this people..we should be wise enough. Accept all what they offered for the good of our family but at the tip of our pen in this coming election we should write what our conscience would dictate...thanks for responding....

I don't think that only Sec. Teodoro is the only one helping the victims of typhoon Ondoy, I know most of them are giving help, I remember Sen. Villar with Willy in some devastated area and people cheering for Noynoy when Cris give the donation, but we only see him because of his position in Disaster Coordinating Center. To be fair with him I don't see it as a "ride" in this kind of situation, most Pilipino's are willing to help others, even the victims themselves, you can see it on the TV, a lot of people are lining up to be a volunteer. During this time and situation we need to set aside the differences.

Hello Mobhomeir, Well, I know he's doing he's job and might use it some day in the upcoming elections as his evidence in handling crisis such as this one. but people have doubts and since he is doing his job, this will be on his record as he campaign for his Presidency. we shouldn't talk about politics right now and instead help those who are in need.

Yes that what I supposed to mean my friend. It is true while he is not resigning yet it is still his job. But it is a blessing in disguise because this is an additional exposures on his candidacy because as far as I know, specially somewhere in Bacolod, lots of people never know of him yet...thanks anyway for responding...

Though I will not vote Teodoro for President in the next year's election, but I will disagree with other people's claim that he is riding the issue of Ondoy's victim to advance himself. Common sense dictates that Teodoro is the National defense chief and one of the tasks of a dense chief is to take lead the armed forces especially when the country is badly hit by a disaster. He is just doing his job and that's just right, if other Presidentiables are the one who acted in the rescue operation then we will really accused them of "using" the calamities for their own interest. My choice for President is either Senator Aquino (Teodoro's second cousin) or Senator Villar. But maybe I will go for Senator Noynoy for his integrity and credibility.

hello daddy! good to see you again! :-) well i don't think it that way...i don't think that Sec. Teodoro is 'riding' in the situation in our country...i think he is just that visible coz its his duty as the secretary of that department which is responsible when times like this comes... i think the other politicians are also doing their part...lending their helping hands to our 'kababayans' who has been affected by the typhoon... i think this is not the time for politicking...but its a time for unity & helping each other and bring back the spirit of 'bayanihan'...

Honestly , I only got to know Gilbert Teodoro when he showed interest in the Presidency. The calamity works to his advantage. It is really hard to think that he is not banking on what is happening now. But I still would like to give him the benefit of the doubt.
