Where is God in tragedies?

This month of September, there are lots of flooding, tsunamis, earthquakes and accidents in different countries. We see victims who are innocent, poor and some may be Christians. How do we give those people hope in God when they taught that He would always protect them?

I think we should point them back to the Bible. The story of Job is a fantastic example of people of faith who are tested in tragic ways. And what about all the Christians who have been killed for their belief? In short, I believe a lot of what is going on the world is God's way of trying to wake people up to the fact they do need him and should be seeking him. We are living in the last days of his return and all these things are laid out in the Bible. So the people who are Christians that may fall victim to these events know, it's all part of the plan and it would actually serve to raise hope, not diminish it.

..well, everything happens for a reason.. maybe God has something to tell us and we have to learn that.. If we are going to see the scenario deeper, the cause of the flood goes back to human activities.. you see, if people would have considered the area where they are living, they could have done something.. But they insisted populating the area.. instead of caring for our nature, people started taking advantage of it.. We christians should not question God because god does not let anything happen without a purpose.. I hope we could make something to let poeple understand this..
